Updated the rifle with a Pachmayr Decelarator Old English pad. Good for the shoulder and feel. I think it didn’t spoil the looks of the rifle. I have also loaded up some old Norma Alaska nickel coated bullets for the driven hunts this autumn/winter.
Let the games begin!
I know what you mean 9x57. When the weather is just right and the woods are all quiet, until you hear the first sign of your prey.....non hunters and outdoors people will never understand why we are there, even when the prey eludes us!
I’m not sure how I managed to leave out the word “late” when I posted the above message.
Getting senile I guess.
My sentence should have been: “I am late with this, nonetheless” .........
Any way, evidently you were not too rattled by my incomplete thought.
Again, I enjoy your Mauser photos, thanks for posting them.

Well English isn’t my first language, so I’m not that strict
Tomorrow I will be at this seasons last driven hunt. Hope to post some more pitures after. But I may take the 30-06 tomorrow.
9X57,
Having worked with many Ericsson personnel for a few years, your English language skills are quite satisfactory. The EHPT (Ericsson Hewlett Packard Telecommunications company) was active in the US and had a Dallas office where my team of consultants worked for EHPT. Our largest offshore team project was in London Docklands, Paris, and Sydney. Very competent and hard working Swedes. I was the program manager for EHPT and spent many weeks over seas on site with your countrymen and women. For what it is worth, at the project wrap-up meeting, the client management complimented us on one of the only outsourced projects to have actually been completed! It was not my first rodeo!
Back to guns and hunting;
Nice rifle package and it is more than enough gun for any hog up to 1000 + pounds. I use boars to first-blood all my new rifles and it is good sport, especially when hunted with good dogs. We typically shoot the smaller ones for meat and the large 0nes for sport and trophies:
Small 150 pounder taken with 1895 .405:
Large (250-300+) one with new .45-70 DR:
Big old sow - 600 pounds taken with .308 for sport and breakfast sausage:
No pig yesterday, but a good day of from work. Had a bull moose within 15m. But it’s not season for that. Ended the day in the sauna with a ”danish friend”.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
