I’ve been contemplating if or how I was going to post this for the last 3 days. So apparently my FB profile has gained the attention and hate from an anti-hunting group on X (Twitter). It looks like due to my YouTube videos (MWH Adventures) being shared on public Facebook groups that this allows anyone on or off FB to see my personal FB profile. So someone took my profile cover photo (without my permission) that shows me with my elephant, hippo, and darted rhino and made a post on an X group called “Xpose Trophy Hunters”. This group is basically a forum to show pictures of hunters and provide the hunter’s personal information in order to incite harassment and threats against the hunter. I don’t have an X account. I learned about this when I received some calls and a hateful voicemail calling me names and telling me I was on trophy hunters exposed. I had the persons phone number and name from the caller ID and through some internet investigation we found this tweet. We’ve had some of the posts and comments removed because they provide personal information, have threats of violence, and incite harassment. I wished the 11k people that have seen this tweet in the last 3 days or the 100+ people that have commented, or the 300+ people who retweeted this would actually care to have a discussion on wildlife conservation through sustainable use hunting. But trust me, they don’t care about any of the facts or science. I’m not posting this to get people to go see the tweet or make comments because I believe it will only add fuel to this and would serve no benefit to myself or hunters in general. Their entire agenda is about hatred and keyboard activism. I just wanted to bring awareness to everyone in this group of their antics. There is a setting in your personal FB settings that prevents people that are not on your friends list from being able to use this method of seeing your profile from posts shared to groups. At least I think it does, we’ll see. I really wished my YouTube channel got the same amount of traffic as this hate post. I go to great lengths to show why sustainable use hunting is the only wildlife conservation model that works and benefits the animals and their habitat. I go into great detail on the financial impact, meat distribution (shown in its pure unedited form), the employment, anti-poaching efforts, and hunter driven civic contributions providing everything from schools and clinics to water wells! If this many people would just watch my videos then they would see and educate themselves on why hunters are the greatest resource in saving the animals we all love and want to see in their ancestral ranges for generations to come and enjoy.

Mark keep up the good work and do not be ashamed of what you do and how you love.
At least you are enjoying life while they have nothing better to do than live in negativity.

Mark keep up the good work and do not be ashamed of what you do and how you live. - Sorry Typo was too late to see it and edit it.

I avoid this problem by not having a facebook profile. And I am very conservative about posting pictures on internet.

I didn't have a You tube channel or any close up pics of me on FB. No Phone, No hometown, Not my full name, etc. I did have 3 hunting photos.......
I was banned last week.

It's a bloody business we are involved in. I appreciate in our "civilized" state many will find it appalling. I can accept it. Not ashamed, just acceptance. So for this I will usually politely nod and back away. However, making threats and invading my personal space is stepping over the line. I won't tolerate that.

I have exactly one video of me on YouTube. Actually it's only my hands cycling my 404 built on 98 Mauser. And I wouldn't have posted that video to YouTube but it's the only way I could post it here to prove to a certain caustic contributor that my "homemade" gun actually works. No way would I put up videos of myself hunting on a broadfield social media platform. Here the moderators can sort out the anti chaff. There anything goes. It's too easy to be a target. Here the target audience is like minded. YouTube has no target audience.

Anyway, I feel when we go broadfield public broadcasting our hobby/passion, we should expect some heat. I can only imagine stuff people who take political office have to endure. The safari operators probably get bombed with the antis' abuse on a daily basis. I'd like to hear how the professionals handle it.

That's weird. My daughter uses Facebook for her taxidermy business. Hundreds of dead animal photos. My safari operator also uses Facebook for their business.

I think that the way some presents oneself next to the killed game predestines to be used for anti-hunting propaganda. I recommend refraining on the pictures from laughing and childishly showing joy when staying by the shot game. Such behavior is rightly interpreted as a lack of compassion and a joy in killing animals.

I went over to x and looked at that groups posts. It's kinda all over the place. From some pics of hunters to guys playing basketball on donkeys to condemning the shooting of squirrels.

All of the hunter pics I saw were guys with elephants, lions and a dude with a cheetah. I didn't see any adresses but some of the hunters were called out by their name, employer and state they live in. They kinda come off as a wannabe keyboard militant peta.

Somebody should start a group and doxx them back.

Gotta agree somewhat...
It seems that the pictures that cause the most outrage with antis and people who aren't necessarily anti but don't hunt are mostly elephants, giraffes, cats and rhinos. Pic of a springbok, not so much.

I don't believe in hiding because of the few, last I checked we live in a free country and what we do is not illegal. I would, however, suggest maybe try to go after them for defamation of character. If this is even possible.

Good work @Mark Henderson for showing the good side of hunting. Keep up the good work, and don't let these keyboard ninja a$$holes from posting your hunts.

I understand that having a YouTube channel showing hunting and fishing videos was going to open me up to the hateful comments and such. But this is something beyond that in my opinion. This is inciting violence with targeted harassment. I actually started the YouTube channel because so many of my friends and their families liked hearing my stories and actually learning about conservation through hunting. I was urged to do this and I do it with the genuine intention of showing beautiful places, entertaining sporting adventures, the reviews and how-to’s of the trip, and spotlighting the wildlife conservation and humanitarian impacts of the trip. I know this is the same song and dance as most outdoor shows/videos and it’s not unique, but I’m passionate about it and can hopefully educate and entertain some with my own adventures. I’m not going to let their hate drive me away from what I love and know to be true. I won’t hide that I’m a hunter or stop trying to share the facts of sustainable use conservation. Like I said, I expected some heat and can take it, but this groups agenda and manner they took my FB profile pic seems almost criminal.

I certainly understand that. I can even say that my smile in the hippo pic may be too big or perceived as joy and not reverence. I go to great lengths to make sure there’s no blood, tongue hanging, disrespectful or offensive posing in my pictures. I won’t take the pics if the animal can’t be cleaned to the point of presenting it in a natural and respectful manner. I’m very careful of this and maybe my expression can be considered giddy but I don’t feel it was disrespectful or the reason I was picked to be blasted by these people. But yes, you make a good point.

There was actually a tweet and a retweet of my phone number and telling people to call and harass me. That’s actually how I found out about it at all. We reported those posts and they were removed.

Thank you very much! I’m not going to let this stop me but I am going to be more cautious on what FB sites I share my videos through.
