Has anyone any experience of flying with Ethiopian Airlines?

We flew with guns in February on Qatar from DFW to Doha then on Windhoek in economy class. No problems with guns(we used TWG),food was good. We bought a 1st class lounge ticket both ways. Ate and took a shower. Lounge was nice. We will be going back in 2020 and only thing we will do differently is to get a room at airport. You can rent one by the hour. Us old people need a nap!!![emoji6][emoji6][emoji6]

It frustrates me to fly above the arctic circle to get to a place south of the equator.

Africa has needed a continental hub and spoke operation, to handle the Americas, out of a place like Accra or Lagos for years. Flying IAD- Addis to get to locations in east and central Africa is the next best thing. The less time in the air, the better for this aging body.

There is nothing really great about Ethiopian Airways. There is nothing really bad about Ethiopian Airways. It's an African airline and I am going to Africa. My expectations aren't of being on the Concorde.

Just watch out for the 737 Max 8's, and co-pilots with 100 hours.

More food for thought about Ethiopian and other third world countries' air carriers. Conclusion? Poorly trained and incompetent people in the cockpits.

I flew Quatar Oslo - Doha - Joburg in march. Very nice airplanes...good onboard service but a nightmare to carry guns with them...problem is that their staff dont know how to handle them and are very skittish about making mistakes.....almost missed my return flight out of Joburg because of all their nonsense..puh..

But as I said...without guns I would not hesitate to fly with them again..

Whatever you do...NEVER book a flight with Air Botswana...utterly incompetent morons...!!!!!!!!
