Have you completed the North American Super 10?

Even my 2 month BC hunt this year was expensive, cost $2K in gas and $500 for ferries. But did come home with annual supply of meat, elk and whitetail, no new 29 to me species. I leave for month of Nov on Sunday looking for black tails, wolf, cougar.

I recently seen a British Columbian stone sheep add, 12 days, $40K for hunt and another $40K trophy fee. Man that hurts. How many safaris could that be, or one with a wild lion?

That’s likely a cancellation and at least $20-40k cheaper than what most stone sheep hunts are going for right now. I’ve only seen a couple for less than 6 figures that weren’t cancellations. A Wild Importable African Lion is cheaper than the avg Stone Sheep hunt at the moment for the US Resident.

@LivingTheDream you know of an outfitter that’s over 6 figures per hunt, booked multiple years out, and wasn’t even 50% this year right?

The outfitter I heard that had a rough year is in Alberta for Rocky Mountain Bighorn, is booked a few years out at over 100k and was well below 50%. I have heard of a Stone Sheep outfitter who is over 100k and is averaging around 25%. There was a Dall Sheep outfitter I think 2 years ago (maybe 3) who went 0 for at least 6.

I dont know the circumstances for the low success numbers, it very well could be weather or hunters physical/or shooting abilities contributed. The guy who did a Bighorn hunt this year has extensive mountain hunting experience, and couldn't find a legal ram.

My first Dall sheep hunt in Alaska I never saw a legal ram in 2 weeks of serious hunting. Two years later, same area I shot my ram and saw several others that were legal.
Took me 3 Alaskan hunts for me to get my brown bear. Never saw a bear on the first hunt, saw a couple of teddy bears on the second. Shot a nice boar on the third trip and saw several other nice bears.

Hunted moose in northern BC last year only saw two nice bulls and shot a nice 54 inch model.

A Stone Sheep hunt there was costing US$80K last year.

At those prices I have shot my one and only Sheep. But if I won lottery I’d be back every year for the rest of my life

The Outfitters’s I just hunted moose with offers Stone Sheep well under $100k with good success.

The stone you got that made the cover of OVIS, was an amazing animal!
Yessir, I was quite surprised when i got a phone call from a good friend who saw the magazine. That ram was taken in BC with Tom Vince (now retired) back in 2012. That was my second attempt at the Stone and I was Blessed.

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe

Hi Walden. Good morning from England, Chris here (The Englishman!) from Croatia. Firstly it was a pleasure to meet you and Michelle - a fellow Sanderson! I have finally joined AH as I enjoy it very much. Glad you enjoyed the hunt and your write up which I read on AR was very good indeed. I am sending on WhatsApp pics from Bojan of some of the animals hunted recently. Take care and best regards. CS.
