Welcome to AH!
Good evening JC, hope you are well. We as residents can hunt on both private and public land. On state land we mostly have to go through an outfitter as they have long term leases on that land. On private land we would go through the owner. Due to land reform that started in 2000 the private hunting land has been reduced greatly. Large game farms, conservancies were taken over. Animals poached, trees destroyed. Our farm in Raffingora had a couple of huge herds of 40-70 Kudu in a herd, during the winter when we were growing wheat. It’s a dry time of year so the irrigation would keep the grass green on the edges of the fields. This attracted the game. My Dad once saw over 40 Bulls in a herd. Make a plan and come visit it’s still a beautiful country. You can hunt, fish, game view all on the same trip. How does the hunting work for a resident in Zimbabwe? Is there “public” land you can hunt? Do you go through an outfitter? Is there private hunting land?
Local resident hunters can hunt on private land, conservancies, national park designated hunting areas. Everything needs to be logged and okayed with the nat parks, returns are submitted by land owners etc.How does the hunting work for a resident in Zimbabwe? Is there “public” land you can hunt?
