Hello I’m a new guy from Angola

Welcome! Please do keep us posted. I go to Angola for work routinely. Last trip there (and an upcoming one) I used vacation days and fly to Namibia to hunt (not complaining) since no hunting in Angola. If things develop in Angola I would definitely look at those options obviously. Very interesting.

It looks like Angola is warming up!

This is from another web site:

While hunting is not currently taking place on a commercial basis in Angola it is looking like a new hot spot and may open up by 2025 with some outstanding Elephant and Cape Buffalo available. We recently looked at some hunting areas in the Cuando Cubango Province near Mavinga and I personally saw buffalo over 45 inches and bull Elephant in the 60–70-pound range. There is already a very nice lodge in place and once the CITES details are worked out this will be the prime area for most hunts in Angola. The first few hunters in country will definitely get the hunting opportunity of a lifetime.

Very interesting. Welcome to the forum. My wife and I stopped very briefly in Luanda back when KLM was flying the Amsterdam-Luanda-Windhoek route.

The giant sable are an incredible species. Being able to hunt them someday would be a tremendous conservation and recovery story. Just seeing them would be a treat. I've hunted the Caprivi and it was certain wildlife wanders from Angola to Namibia to Botswana all the time. It's a beautiful ecosystem in that area.

Welcome to AH @Macuta, it's great to see that hunting may open up in Angola. Looking at the map of the country, I always thought the area in the southeast could be wonderful for hunting with the Caprivi strip and Zambia right next door. Do you feel the country has managed to rid itself the land mines from all of the previous wars?

Bom dia @mucuta!

I spent 5-1/2 years in Angola, mainly up in Cabinda. Before I plan a hunt to Angola, I want to know more about the land mine situation.

Welcome to AH! We look forward to you sharing your stories!

Welcome welcome
