@Opposite Pole , the most common problem with 1911's is many are picky about magazines. If you have failures to feed, the first place to look is always the magazine. It will be the culprit most of the time.
Kimber factory magazines are made by Chip McCormick (
http://www.cmcmags.com/). Those are among the best made. Your Kimber should have no problem feeding with them.
In my opinion the absolute best 1911 magazines are Wilson 47D's. If you decide you want some additional magazines, I would recommend you order the Wilsons (
http://shopwilsoncombat.com/1911-Ma...ze-8-Round-Standard-Base-Pad/productinfo/47D/). They are a bit expensive, but you'll find that a huge number of the guys on the professional competitive shooting circuit shoot wilson magazines exclusively. No one makes a better 1911 magazine in my opinion.
Congratulations on the purchase. The 1911 is a wonderful pistol. Most are very accurate right out of the box, theyre fun to shoot, and even more fun to customize and "make it your own".
