Hennie van Jaarsveld, a well known Professional Hunter in the Grahamstown area of the Eastern Cape of South Africa, was involved in a terrible car accident in October. Sadly he lost his wife & mother-in-law in the accident. They were travelling back home from Johannesburg, near Bloemfontein, when an oncoming truck lost control due to a burst front tyre, colliding with Hennie's vehicle head on. He miraculously survived the accident, but has many injuries to overcome. His daughter, Jessica, started a BackaBuddy compaign to try and raise some funds needed for his after hospital medical treatment, as well as to keep him afloat while he cannot carry out his profession. His head injury has caused major concussion, which will take months to resolve completely.

Please, if you're able to, help Hennie by contributing to the BackaBuddy campaign.

Let's help make his already difficult situation, slightly better.
Thanks in advance
Best regards
Marius

Hope and Prayers for Hennie for a full and speedy recover.

Condolences to Hennie, his daughter, the rest of their family and friends on their loss of two loved ones.

May his wife and mother-in-law Rest In Peace.

I have hunted with Hennie several times. You won't find a harder working PH that caters to his clients as well as a love of his job and the animals. his wife Tahlita was super knowledgable of the animals, flora and fauna down to the tiniest bug. Super great people. had the opportunity on my last trip to spend a week with her mom tagging along with us and took the wife shopping. He has a long road ahead of him. He needs our support every little bit helps.

My heart goes out to him and his daughter. Lost my wife to a car accident fourteen years ago. Hopefully he will be recovered enough to be home for Christmas. Or maybe find somewhere else to be besides home. That first holiday season without loved ones is the toughest.

I'm just about to return to Ontario from hunting in Montana. It's a 24 hr marathon, especially hairy in winter conditions. Thankfully, this time I'll be driving back in a safer vehicle. My daughter is much relieved.

Thanks for your message, and for your thoughts - yes we are hoping that he will be well enough to be out of hospital for Christmas. We were also thinking about him not coping being at home, so have made some arrangements already. It's a really difficult situation, which we cannot fully comprehend - but thank you for input - it is definitely appreciated.

Hope your hunting trip went well, and that you have safe travels home! Take care on the roads
Best regards
Marius

Just learned yesterday about it. All my prayers and good thoughts are with Hennie and his daughter. In silent prayer Jens

My son and I hunted with Hennie in 2013. Great PH and a fine person. Keeping him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

I have just seen this, really upsetting to read,
I and my husband met Hennie on our first trip to the Eastern Cape in 2013, we were in two small groups Hennie guided the other group and we shared the camp.
Please pass on condolences to Hennie and family, but please pass on on a big best wishes and most definitely a heartfelt get well, I'm sure his daughter and friends are making sure he gets plenty of care and support, plus those on AH will wish their best at this difficult time.
Let's hope Hennie is at home at Christmas with family!!!

Everyone always thinks about the worst thing that can happen, maybe ask yourself what's the best outcome that could happen?

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
