HENRY GRIFFITHS SAFARIS hunting/trailcam pictures and hunting/tour updates

Big old Eland spotted yesterday!

We are super busy with maintenance and upgrades! Next hunt starting Saturday!

We had a big fire started by lightning yesterday on the large cattle area where we hunt kudu, all the neighbours came to help and we got it under control pretty quick!

Glad you all pulled together as neighbors to get the fire under control and hopefully fully out soon.

Bigger question from those of us "arriving soon": How will this tragedy affect the hunting and game habitat and conservation on your property?

Will young grow immediately start to grow and flourish? As some plants are known to require fire in order to grow and produce sustainable forage for wildlife.

Its been raining since 6 am this morning, a hunter coming in the 2025 hunting season will not be able to tell there was a fire at all,

Fire can be a tragedy but mostly its a good thing! It opens up the bush , kills ticks and regenerates new growth and game will be found in recently burned areas after good rain, this fire wasn’t on the Wild Goose area but on the adjacent 40000 acre cattle ranch and only about 500 acre’s was burned…

I'll be holding you to that, as I will be seeing you, your family, and crew at the end of April through the 2nd week of May 2025.:A Shades::E Dancing: To complete my Springbok slam and a long with "a couple" of other animals.:giggle:

Do love the reduced tick population, I hope that also means less mosquitoes.

My Very Best Regards to All

Paul

Looking at this, just wondering if you mean Maysville, Iowa? If so that is a crazy coincidence as I am booked with you in May, 2025 and I live 20 minutes from Maysville. And if that’s the case I’d love to meet up!
