I know many here have several safaris under their belt and have taken multiple dangerous game, but how many have taken the Big 5?

I’m guessing this is an increasingly exclusive club today as hunting costs continue to rise and rhino hunts become more elusive.

If you’re currently at 4, which animal do you need to complete the 5?

Cheers,

If you count rhino darting, and you should...I'm only missing the leopard. I have hunted but not taken one yet. I have multiples of the rest except for 1 lion. DG is my main interest and I will continue hunting more...mainly buff and ele.

I have four of the five, lacking only a rhino. I just can’t wrap my head around shooting a fenced white rhino, so it’s very unlikely I’ll ever have all five, unless Black Rhinos miraculously become huntable someday. Not sure I could afford a Black Rhino if they ever become huntable, but I’d definitely want to hunt one. I’ve seen five in the wild, all in Zimbabwe in the 1980’s. They’re very neat animals.

All told I’ve shot 10 buffalo, 3 leopards, 2 elephant bulls and a lion. Also dry land hippo and a croc if you consider all the dangerous game.

Cheers,
i have the big 4, only lacking my leopard which I am hunting with Lou Haramore from 6/22-7/9 in zim to complete my big 5

I lack the rhino but I am darting a white rhino in June. I would love to hunt a black rhino but cannot justify the cost.

I lack the rhino, but prob wont ever shoot or dart a white one

Need a Rhinoceros

Would also like a forest elephant and a dwarf forest buffalo. But Rhinoceros is top priority for me.

Just do it :ROFLMAO:  . We have to be the enabler in this case. Just like when someones is doubting when buying a new gun. You can never have enough guns they say.

No just kidding. I know the costs and it is understandable to not do it.

Completed the big 5 with a black rhino darting family for relocation. Also hippo and croc. for the DG 7

have a couple buff, ele, 2 lions, leopard (some of these in SA and some in Zim)
just cant do a rhino after having some poached
have croc and hippo too

all of this is for myself, have hunted many with clients too

Are white Rhino only found in South Africa? Only Huntable on fenced ranches?

I’ve got a leopard, buff and hippo. I’m booked for elephant and lion. If the elephant and lion work out then I’m sure I’ll try and get a rhino and croc
