How many people have a 35 whelen?

I have two Whelen's... a Ruger No.1-A and an M77 Mark II... I almost had three, my ordered Ruger African came in a couple weeks ago, but had a 2x4 of a stock, and at $2500 with tax and shipping here in Canuckistan, I took a hard pass. I also have two .358 Win's, both Ruger carbines, still have the Ruger Sambar, although that is going to a buddy when he can sneak it past his wife... and a Ruger Mark II .358-375 Ruger. The only ones of these that are safe from future trading are the two .358 Carbines... I have two rifles on the way back from the gunsmith and they should shake up the gun cabinet a bit.
That 358-375 Ruger sounds like a great round.

It is a corker... 3140 fps with the 225 Accubond... very comfortable on game out to 500 yards and still carrying a hefty payload... but that comes at a cost of course, cuz... physics... she is "snappy!"

I have a Ruger MKII RS in 35 Whelen. I like it. Shoots pretty well.

Sounds like a more practical 358 STA!

I was looking at the 338-375 Ruger to retire the 340 Wby, but the 358 version has now peaked my interest.

This could be a support group topic:

My name is Dave and I have a 36 Whelen. It is built on a 1909 Mauser with a 25” Douglas barrel and a Timney trigger. It likes CFE223 and 250 grain bullets. It sits in the safe next to my 338 WM and they get along well.

If'n it was a 35 Whelen instead of a 36 they mightn't play nicely together.

I will most likely go 24" when I one day get around to doing up a 35 whelen nice middle ground between a short barrel for portability and a long barrel for maximum velocity and minimal blast and flash.

My only contribution to the 35 Whelen club. Remington 7600 pump gun. Started life as a rifle length 30-06, I had the barrel cut down to 18.5" and the front sight reinstalled. Had JES Rebore bore it out to 35 whelen, and put on a skinner peep sight and fiber optic front.

She's a bit weathered, a little worn, but carries like a dream through thick woods in pursuit of whitetails and packs a punch. I keep thinking I need to shoot a black bear with it as well.

Oh very yes on the black bear.

I had a 35 whelen move in a couple years ago.I guess I like it or something. It spits out 200 grain ttsx over Varget into groups tight enough I’d get called a liar if I mentioned them. When it has a rough day and gets beat on, I touch the stock up with textured spray paint when we get home. It’s a beautiful thing, really.

Another one painting guns with rattle can.

I had hoped to take this little Mauser Sporter on safari. Someone had rechambered it in .35 Whelen. I began shooting and sighting it in when the stock began to crack in the tang area. I was sure bummed, but the stock was very thin everywhere. It weighs nothing.

Also a stainless and walnut No.1 in .35 Whelen. The Featherweight is .308…

I just got back from my 1st safari and I used a custom 35 Whelen with Buffalo Bore ammo (225 gr TSX) it performed as good as anything else I could have take.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
