I will be using Hunters and Collectors Taxidermy for my upcoming hunt in the Eastern Cape and am thinking of going with just the skull mounts. Does anyone have any pics of Euro's they've had done there that they would like to share? I'd like to see skulls that are just cleaned to be finished at the final destination as well as completely finished and mounted skulls if possible. Thanks!

I used them back in 2015 and they do a good job. I only had one euro done but one of my hunting partners had 2 warthogs done and a gemsbok done and they all came out great.

Here is my besbok that I had euro-ed.

Ragman used them last year, all their work was fantastic, from labeling of the animals, to packing the crate, and wrapping everything in bubble wrap, our taxidermist was impressed. So no worries you should get a good job, I have 3 euro mounts packed away because we are moving sorry no pics.

Hi. I liked working with them. Very responsive. Here are the euros we had done (I am sure I have other pics but these are on my phone). My only complaint is my Kudu shoulder has a stitch line on the bottom. Not sure what happened there because the other shoulders do not have this.

@Pheroze : Do the Russians know you have Sputnik hanging in your dining room?

The wildebeest euro mount does look great!

My wife tells me the 70's are back, but I think Sputnik is even more retro!!

This won't make me friends but, I fell through the cracks it seems.

How about this as a trophy euro impala....

The suggestion was that the PH smuggle a replacement on his marketing trip.

4 trips and 8 PH/outfitters, absolute worst garbage D&P in like 60 skins/horns/skulls I've had done. First time to loose skins in tanning too. Some of the other skulls were WORSE, but lucky shoulder mounts; 2 other euro's I salvaged after a degreasing/ proper whitening.

I'd demand pictures, something I have never needed before; but have added to my list when dealing with a hunt.

@Dinsdale, sorry that happened to you. It's something I'll definitely have to discuss with them. Hopefully I'll have good results like the others that posted. But thanks for posting...I find it very helpful.

I have seen skulls almost disintegrate when boiling them to make a euro. That is where if you ever watch a video of how Skulls Unlimited does it you will see that they place the skull into a wire basket so that they can collect all of the pieces to put it back together again. I have one skull that they did for me before I started doing it myself that you can actually see where they glued the skull back together.

It is a sad thing but sometimes that just happens.

Wow, skulls in a wire basket so they can glue it back together. That's a solution to a problem that shouldn't exist, they should never be boiled to the point that they fall apart. It's just being lazy and left to boil too long so they have less work to do cleaning the skulls and scraping the flesh off

Have you ever cooked a skull? At times they come apart for no reason that you can see.

Skulls Unlimited are the best in the business and they know what they are doing.

Yes I have actually done a few deer myself and never had any of them fall apart aside from a few teeth coming out

Very beautifully made Pheroze and also, like the wildebeest, placed.
Too many shoulder mountings easily get to Stephen King's "cemetery of cuddly toys" .
I myself still have a buffalo trophy in Bulawayo far away (which my wife is very happy about  ) and I am still thinking about how I present it.
Here, as I saw it at a fair, she could also resign herself.
Not because she likes the chrome so well, but because she loves me, she says (and my taste is better sometimes;);)but she won't say that. )

In my long hunting life, I've cooked up countless skulls.
A job I never liked, but still I produced good results. Only if I have cooked them too long parts have fallen off.So watch out.
Here I found two good videos, although in German, but nevertheless understandable like I mean.
Whether red stag, or buck, the principle is always the same.

That's very cool. What has been done to make it look like that?

It's just chrome-plated.Very cool looking .
I don't know how it works, maybe a member here has a garage and can say more about it :)

Here are my euro mounts done by Marlou Beyer in Namibia ... My thoughts were simple it is less expensive and less hassle with customs when the were shipped ..... very pleased with the results .

Do you have any cull hunts available? 7 days, daily rate plus per animal price?
