I was wondering if anyone has experience going hunting large European Wild boar? I saw a website for Huntromania has anyone used them? Any other suggestions? It would be for 2026.

Thanks for any information

I hunted fallow deer with Marius/HuntRomania. It was a good hunt.

You might consider how you want to hunt boars. There are baited hunts, driven hunts, spot and stalk hunts. There are a lot of good options in Europe. A Monteria in Spain is a very good option for a driven boar hunt. A spring roe Deer and boar hunt is a very good option for spot and stalk. I took these in Sweden.

Marius M. is the owner of HuntRomania
I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding because all my African hunts have been with Marius at KMG. Quite a coincidence the have the same first name

I have hunted wild boar in Spain with Ignacio de Navasques owner of Great European Hunts.

And with Martin Neuper in Austria, owner of FN Hunting. https://www.fnhunting.com/

Either can set you up with spot an stalk or stand opportunities, and Martin offers a wonderful driven hunt every year. Boar are typically an easy adjunct for another European species. The Spanish boar was taken as part of an Ibex hunt, and the Austrian boar as part of an Alpine chamois hunt.

Some of those are bovine sized. Like a refrigerator on legs.
I can imagine how tough the skin on those porkers must be.
Amazing

Gosh those are HUGE. Wonderful trophies

The Romanian native wild boars are free range and body size can reach 300 kg. In other European countries they don’t reach even 60-100 kg just by exception or in fenced areas.

Turkiye has huge wild boars.

We have a lot of them in Spain, but as Marius said, 100 kg. would be an exceptional animal.

There are some fine specimens there.

Although pigs are widespread in Australia 100kg plus is considered large pig in many parts being that it is often dry and arid country.
Other areas with higher rainfall , forests or fertile soil produce bigger animals that in turn probably breed larger offspring slowly increasing the size from good genetics.

A couple of huge Aussie Boars, one from this season !

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
