The bad guys know not to play games in Qatar. It’s not tolerated. Probably the safest place in the whole itinerary.
Sort of an IRL version of "The Continental" in John Wick? The bad guys know not to play games in Qatar. It’s not tolerated. Probably the safest place in the whole itinerary.
Just ordered one of these in charcoal gray. That's just hilarious.Remember, safety third View attachment 624820
Exactly!! My grandson is in Saudi Arabia right now. His issues are the cost of water and the heat. There is no real safety concern. As an American with Middle Eastern heritage, I know firsthand that the media often exaggerates and portrays the world as more hostile than it actually is. Don’t worry at all—travel safely and enjoy your time!
Hamad Airport in Doha makes LAX look like a dump by comparison.I just got back from flying Qatar and spent 6 hours at Doha airport. You have nothing to worry about. Actually it is one of the nicest airports I have ever seen. Took nap under the waterfall, amazing food, and great bars. They have smoking rooms, relaxing rooms, and very clean through out. I feel more unsafe at LAX airport then Doha!
That's what I heard and good news, for your son, and the US military. Interesting to read of the helo pilots doing that work. You must be a very proud father.FWIW, the voodoo witch doctor sez the Lincoln is just relieving the Roosevelt. Things aren't so bad that we need 2 carrier groups in that part of the world.
'was on a flight to the midwest for work shortly after 9/11. I get seated next to a very dark-skinned middle-eastern guy and ALL eyes are nervously on him for awhile since takeoff...Perceptive, he looks around, stands up and says (in perfect English, obv. born in America) "Relax! Relax. I'm a builder from Minneapolis!" and everyone smiles and breathes easily from then on... Although I realize quite a few do it, I have a fundamental problem with traveling past my destination and then coming back to it on another flight. I personally wouldn't fly to the middle east to go to S., C. or W. Africa, for many sound reasons. If headed to TZ or ethiopia, it would make sense, and also recognizing the caliber/quality of flights you're talking about. You'll never leave the airport in Doha. In and out both ways.
The hardest thing about those flights is the time in the air.
But if you are not flying business get to know your Muslim buddy that is sitting next to you. Qatar is the major airline flying everyone in and out of the middle east so all of their flights are packed.
