That is a huge impala QC, well done.
When I shoot the first one, my PH said: This is by far the best Impala I've seen in this area.

When I shot the second he said: This is the best Impala I've seen in the area.

I said: Hey, you said the same thing on the first one.

He put both skulls side by side. Almost exact copy.

I'm proud of them. I've not seen many like these.
 
Impala are cool animals, They can be a treat and real challenge to hunt in thick broken woodland. There was a good ram in this group of 40-50. Followed and tracked them for at least two or three miles and most of a day. Best opportunity was about 250 yards through open woodland but the good ram kept milling around inside the group. I did't want a twofer or threefer. Never got a shot at the ram. No matter, they are great to watch with their graceful, high and impressive jumps.

They are in a tightly packed bunch in the middle of this patch of mopane scrub.

And this was my finding as well. I found the whole "beginner animal" statement to not be entirely true. It was a ton of work, lots of walking, and really learning how to follow my PH on a stalk for us to get a good male.
