Jim Green boot hides claim “natural dead buffalo hides “, a good story?

It seems some of the posters here have buyers bias. I.e, they're already invested so they aren't objective to critical evaluation of the product.

I've been guilty myself but when you start giving shit to a real person for criticizing features on a shoe, you should take a step back and reassess.

I hunt in Texas a lot due to a particularly interesting reason. I live here.
My experience tends to agree with Ontario hunter. Looks like fashion over function.

Also.... Great looking boots. I may have to try them for the office and around town this fall once it gets below 150F and suitable for going outside again.

Usually if I think I might be agreeing with Ontario Hunter that’s when I’ll step back and reassess. He’s criticizing something he’s never seen, tried, or considered trying like many of his posts on every topic lately. He’s also suggesting an alternative not suitable for many tracking hunts in Africa. As far as fashion over function, they are designed to last on dry ground in Africa not be fashionable. I’ve never thought they looked good so I’m surprised to see the word fashionable brought into the conversation. Research the brand instead of basing opinions on a photo of a boot.

I own several makes of boots that are used and needed in various situations (snake boots, rubber boots, winter boots etc). My post was to inform of my experience, that is why I own 3 because they serve a purpose . Say what you will but consider my post a recommendation of function NOT fashion.

Good looking boot except for the sole. Great for a walk to the store but not so much in the bush.

No, just, no. Those are the absolute best soles for 90% of your Sub Saharan Africa work. They are quiet when walking/stalking in sandy soil. They stick to rocks well when climbing kopies. Maybe not the best in mud, but you don’t run into a ton of mud in the hunting season.

The last thing you want are shoes with big lugs. It drives me nuts to hunt w clients crunching away as they walk with big lug soles. Also, the reduced surface area gives much less grip climbing rocks.
