I really like my Jim Green boots!
Same here I got fat EE feet

I've been enjoying the pair that I picked up at Safari Outdoor on the way out of Joberg in May!

Any thoughts on the barefoot vs the ranger. I can see the barefoot is designed with no "lift" (flat across the sole.

Without trying them it is pretty tough to decide.

Will be at Joberg Airport soon. Is the Safari Outdoor in the airport or near it? Thanks!

The regular Rangers are wide while the barefoot model is extremely wide, so much so they did not fit.

Hi Sir! It's +- a 15 minute drive from the airport.

Wore my Barefoot Rangers everyday for 12 days in Limpopo and Free State in a variety of terrains including 14 miles in the Mountains chasing Eland. I found them very durable and my PH remarked on how quiet they were. Comfort was great but that is subjective on if they fit your feet or not. I did add a very thin flat padded insole(no arch) just for the shock absorber effect. I have a wider foot and high arch and they worked perfect for me with only a short break in period. Take that for what its worth and good hunting.

I like my Razorback. I bought them a year ago, use them as woork boots. They need 2-3 layers of leather balm to be somewhat water resistant. I have Lug sole = it collect dirt, my next boot would have wedge sole.

Hi JVW! Thanks for the post. Getting ready to pull the trigger on a pair of Jim Green's! Cheers! Herb Johnson

Can someone please put their Jim Green pair on a scale and weigh them then photograph and post the result, please.

Available on Amazon. From reading various reports, these boots seem to run wide.

I think I might be able to get into a pair of these.
I have that exact model. I haven't worn them hunting yet.

They fit reasonably well on my narrow feet with inserts.

I asked them why such a huge toe box. Answer was (paraphrasing) "to simulate walking more barefoot rather than having your toes squeezed." From their perspective, a large toe box is a more natural fit, and the tight fitting shoes we're accustomed to wearing are unnatural. ‍:E Shrug:

I ordered mine directly from Jim Green. Amazon doesn't seem to offer all styles/colors. I looked at Amazon's selection after I'd already been to the Jim Green website to see if they might be a little less expensive. No real difference in price. Amazon can probably deliver a little faster, but I had originally ordered size 13, turned out to be too short, so I sent them back and ordered size 14. Whole thing took less than 2 weeks.

A few years ago this Gent posted the weight of his Courteney Selous Boots, I wanted to compare them to Jim Greens as I have heard conflicting statements from people...

"Courteneys are light as a feather!
"JimGreens feel like cement anchors!"
"Courteney is not a "light" boot by any means!"
"These Jim Greens are the lightest footwear I've ever worn hunting!"

Size 8 foot. 2 lbs 10.6 Oz. For both boots.

my Schnee’s winter pack boots weigh that much per boot.

courtney boots are not heavy.
