Jim Green boots

A few years ago this Gent posted the weight of his Courteney Selous Boots, I wanted to compare them to Jim Greens as I have heard conflicting statements from people...

"Courteneys are light as a feather!
"JimGreens feel like cement anchors!"
"Courteney is not a "light" boot by any means!"
"These Jim Greens are the lightest footwear I've ever worn hunting!"
I wish I was home to weigh my Courtney boots. I have no reason to doubt the posted weight but they feel like I have bricks strapped to the bottom of my feet. They feel very heavy to me particularly at the toes so maybe it’s a weight distribution issue that makes them feel so heavy? I wish I had got ripple sole instead of tire tread.

I want to try the Jim Greens at DSC this year. I should have last year but tried the Courtney’s first. I like the Courtney’s less the more I wear them I think.

That pair I bought in 2017 or 2018.
I bought another pair this year. The sole is significantly larger for the same boot size. They are definitely heavier now, I’d guess 4-6 Oz per boot heavier! While I still like them, I’d prefer that the sole was thinner.

Not saying your weights are wrong but JG boots feel so much lighter than courtney along with the horrible arch support and pinky toe blisters you get from Courtney’s of which I have tried three pairs…never again!!!

I was saying my Courtney’s feel very heavy. I haven’t tried Jim Green. I will this year.

There's one advantage/distinctive separation between the two (Courteney & JimGreen) and to me it does mean something, I can have Courteney Boots made from various Game Hides & dyed any color on top of being able to "re-design" the shoe/boot to my personal aesthetic preference (at a price point).

Jim Green doesn't offer this customer choice (too my knowledge).

HOWEVER... If I bought say both and found the Jim Green to be "distinctly more comfortable" than the Game Hide fancy Courteneys.... I'd use the Jim Greens, HOWEVER.... If they both feel kinda the same no real distinctive standout comfort difference... I'd wear the Courteneys (cause Game Hides).
