Me, trying to get a better view in order to find a Waterbuck.
Below Video is of a Waterbuck wounded by one of our hunters. The first shot was at 50 yds. After getting some eyes on it, we continued to bump it and eventually got another chance at it at 280 yds. The hunter hit the bull for a second time. Watching the bull in my binoculars, I could see that he looked sick after taking a second hit. I expected the bull to have expired by the time we got to the area where I last saw him.
Arriving there, the bull jumped up again and took off. It was time to bring in the heavy artillery in Flex and Turd. I put the dogs down, and they bayed the bull in a pond. Advancing slowly, the hunter finished the bull off, standing in the water. After the shot, my two dogs leaped into the water, to claim their quarry.
Once they got to the bull, with only the back visible, the dogs could not find grip on the hide, and I soon saw that they were in trouble. I ran into the water, camera and phone still in pocket to save my dogs from drowning. Below is the recovery. ( Of both the dogs and the Waterbuck.)
Hunting Fallow Deer in the rut. Apologies for the poor camera work, but this is me manning the camera and trying to stalk at the same time. It shows part of the stalk, clearly hearing the Stag rutting in the background. Eventually the hunter took the shot from my shoulder.
