Kynoch 500/465 Ammo Rescued

I go to my LGS so much it’s probably not healthy. I hardly ever buy anything so I’m sure they love seeing me come in lol. 99% of the time they don’t have anything I’m interested whatsoever but I’m always on the lookout. Yesterday I saw this box of ammo that I somehow had never noticed before and I felt obligated to “rescue” it from rotting away on a shelf (if only to place it on my shelf haha). Apparently it had been there for a long time and didn’t have a price on it. Long story short, events spilled over into today and I picked it up for a little less than I’ve seen online. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do with it yet but it was a treat for me as I rarely get to see this type of stuff.

Nice pick up, I collect cartridges & old Kynoch packets & have a few now, then my buddy started & now has biggest collection of English sporting in the country, I would love to find some Old Light Nitro or Nitro for Black Kynoch packets, even Black Powder Express would be cool, I have .577 Snider & 577/450 so far of them .

Classic round - 500/465 was Teddy Roosevelt’s Holland and Holland “big stick”. His 405 was great for lions. He used this for the big stuff...

I carried a 456Express by Holland and Holland dominion model for a few years, great caliber.. stopped a few charges on Water Buffalo..
