I have a friend who is looking for a #1 in 300 Weatherby, but a 300 Winchester is also a possible where he can re-chamber it to the Weatherby round.

I'm pretty sure that the Weatherby option would be a unicorn hunt but there should be a number of Winchesters out there.

There are a few 300 H&H floating around I'm sure. That would be an easy re-chamber I believe.

I forgot about the HH, it would be a easy re-chamber since the Weatherby is based on the H&H case blown out and in a pinch you can shoot 300 H&H rounds in that Weatherby chambered rifle.

There's a Ruger #1 in 270 and 300 Weatherby on GunBroker right now. Just look up Ruger #1 Weatherby.

I was thinking of getting a Ruger #1 270 Weatherby for a while so I saw plenty of 300 Weatherbys. Then I happened across a nice one in 300 WM and walked away with it, saving a lot on brass in the long run.

I'll let him know. I looked on GB this morning and none of my searches turned up one.

On that 270 Weatherby I have one and it is a antelope getting rifle, along with those long shots on mule deer and elk.

To close out this thread he bought one and has it in his hands.

His biggest problem is that he has around 400 rounds of .300 Weatherby re-loaded ammo that doesn't fit into the #1's chamber. His old rifle was a bolt action.

So right now he in in the process of pulling bullets so that he can full length resize the cases and get them loaded again.

That's no fun.
Hope it all works out.

He's retired and has lots of time to do it.

He is going to just pull enough right now to get the scope sighted in and then make a decision on what his future plans are. But as we all know about reloads, what works in my rifle just may not work in yours especially when the cases are just neck sized.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
