New rifle will be announced on 31st january as per their site.Official launch date is January 28th, but what do we know so far about the Mauser 25? Is this going to be a replacement for the M18, or more of a mid-range rifle like the M12?
M12 was o my short list for general purpose hunting rifle, together with sauer 101, sako 85 and CZ 550 at the time. Finally I took Sako 85 (30-06), of these 4.Always liked the M12, but that offering is really getting small.
I've never handled the M12, but I liked the idea of the M12 pure with iron sights. Like you, I probably would have taken a Sako 85 instead. Doesn't matter, both are becoming pretty scarce.M12 was o my short list for general purpose hunting rifle, together with sauer 101, sako 85 and CZ 550 at the time. M18, when getting my hand on it in a gun shop, does not feel right to me. Too much basic. No feeling for it. Just another push feed in a plethora of other budget push feeds around.
If my heart does not feel full, when I handle a rifle, it is not for me.
Thats a Mauser M-15 22lr semi auto. This guy in Saskatchewan claims to have one already, a .22 cal AR style gun with extended magazines. He posted his ad four months ago. Maybe Trudeau and company haven't had time to put it on the banned-to-sale list? Or maybe a scammer?

Mage in Germany with aluminum body not plastic…burned 200 rounds thru it and never jammed…comes with Halo sights but I up graded to a Crimson Trace red dot scope… bought two extra clips so 3 clips ..22 rounds capacity on each….almost 850 rounds of CCI STINGERS hollow point high velocity...townpost.ca
You could be right. That might be the best we can hope for. Something that would compete with the Sako 90 would be cool. It'd be even better if it was a small extractor type CRF like the CZ 600 ans Sako 85, but it'll probably be push feed.My 5 cents: I think it's a M03/M12 replacement.
A traditional push feed like a M12 but a bit more upscale with more steel parts. Since the introduction of the M18 and demise of the M03, the M12 has made little sense as the M98 is really quite premium and then two entry level models which left a huge gap for Sako to gobble up with the 85/90. The M25 will probably be similar in market positioning to a Sako 90 but along the traditional Mauser lineage.
....but I could be wrong..
The M03 was dropped for the same reason as the Sauer 90.Good questions, Mark. The R8 is so popular that it pretty much tanked the M03 (I have two), and they’ve got the high end pretty well covered with the M98. Always liked the M12, but that offering is really getting small. Don’t know…. higher-end synthetic to replace the M12, while they still make the cheap M18? Fun to speculate.
