I do like the big bores...was hoping you'd say that you'd decided to keep it to remove the temptation

Pendelton Composite Stocks make them for MRC. Full disclosure...I have no experience with them but have heard good things.Hey Kid does anyone make a composite stock for them or do you have to go custom?
Thanks Bee, the wood is still fine, I just wanted less weight. I know MPI would also likely do a custom.Pendelton Composite Stocks make them for MRC. Full disclosure...I have no experience with them but have heard good things.
If you were interested in keeping the wood stock on this rifle, nearly any competent gunsmith should be able to raise the dents in the wood and refinish it the way you want.
Fair enough. Always easier to add weight later if needed, than try to put one on a diet.Bee, it’s 11.6 and I want about 10 to 10.5.

If I hunted with my rifle on my shoulder like most people l wouldn’t care if it weighed 20 lbs. I carry mine in my hands. Try it sometime and tell me about the gym.
Man. I thought I was doing some working out! I'm gonna have to step up my game, you're doing some hard core workouts! I need to start carrying some weights in my hands while walking. I always have had a girlie grip. Ha haAlmost all my workouts are with dumbbells, even squats. When I train for the mountains I have an 80# bag of concrete on my pack frame and a 20# kettle bell in each hand. I walk for miles like that so when I carry my 11.5# rifle in my hands... I'm good with it.
You can adjust your workouts to accommodate your hunting goals too. It just depends on how you want to approach it.
