Just started perusing Pierre Van der Walt's book. It's big....really big. It's college textbook size.

Charts, graphs, data...all sorts of info.

I strongly recommend this book as a must-own for anyone contemplating Africa.

Found it online for $40. Amazon has a kindle version for $10.

This should be a $150 reference book. A total bargain.

I bought mine from Safari Press.

Thanks for the heads up!

Does it also cover smaller and plains game cartridges, or is it exclusively for DG?

Ordered a copy today based on what was said here. $40, 430 pages and shipping price to be determined when it shipps. Little worried but it sounds like it's worth the cost.

I have the book and I would also highly recommend it.

The book showed up. I have just thumbed through it, definately worth it. The only place I found the printed book was outdoor visions .com. I was alittle put off by the shipping to be determined and no tracking number. However the company responded to my email inquiry quickly with an estimated delivery date. Packaged well and in perfect shape. Unlike Midway USA and improperly packaged books, even after a return with a request to replace/ retun ship in a box.

I bought a copy based on these reviews, and it was money well spent. It’s an excellent addition to any reference library on African rifles, and it seems to be very well written. Thanks for the tip on this excellent book.

Pretty sure I paid a good bit more than that in 2015 when I bought mine. :(
