Ive often put myself in your position Johnny , sitting and waiting for a cat for hours .
I still don't know how i will react when he finally shows up ?
You recon its mentally challenging after the first night , shit , think id be a physical wreck in no time .
Shit im nervous for you sitting here thousands of miles away , i know how much you want this cat .
Im pumping for ya Johnny .
Cheers Dory .

Thanks my friend. Another day has ended with an active bait with no leopard showing up. It’s almost as if they know we are there , uncanny for sure. Frustrating would be an understatement. We just keep on playing this chess game with old Mr. Spots. I would love to get him in the salt soon so I can try to fill my wish list. I’d hate to travel this so and only have a dik dik to show for it. Anyway the game continues.

How far is your blind from the bait?

Hope you can get some other species on an opportunistic basis in the meantime!!

Yes only opportunistic species seems to be the steenbok, and I’ll be damed if they stand still long enough to make a judgment and shoot.

Best of luck, looking forward to more :A Popcorn:

You got this bro! They only have to make a mistake once!

Another night is upon you!! Press on sir!

Some things come easy for some and not for others, other things come hard for all and are well earned. The ones that come easy usually are the ones we value the least. Both of my buffalo came with little fuss. Took me 3 tries to get a 50" kudu bull. About 5 tries for an eland bull and there are others. My personal nemesis is currently spotted hyena, after many tries still no cegar. I think you will get your cat and it will be worth the wait and angst.

Well guys sat today and put out fresh bait, my feelings are we’re going to get the job done just need some luck! We had seen this terrific duiker a couple of nights ago, my PH commented saying he’s a great duiker. Tonight I said to him if we see that duiker again I’m going to take him. Having taken a very good duiker in 2015 I was a bit reluctant but 10 minutes passed when my PH said there he is. So I took him. Qualified for Rowland and Ward.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
