Hi there Ontario Hunter
Cool to see ya stop back in ... you seem down to earth
Well so far here's the ingredients list for whipping up a good batch of 416 Rem Mag Rifle:
1) Savage 110 Magnum Long Action for 250.00 at G-nBroker
2) The Hardwood Magnum Savage 110 Stock for 90.00 at Numrich
3) The Basix Sav-1 Trigger for 110.00 at Ebay
4) The Trigger Guard with Bottom Bolt Release for 40.00 at GunShack
5) The Cross Bolts for 22.00 at Brownells
6) The Bolts/Screws, Lug, and misc hardware (used) for 24.00 at Ebay
7) The barrel will be done by McGowen which will cost an average of 350.00
8) Savage provides the convenience of a jam-nut feature for its barrels which makes installation a thing that the average person can then do at home since it makes the head spacing a bit easier to do and therefore wont be paying a gunsmith to do it.
9) Blueprinting the bolt action will likely not be necessary as a big game rifle isnt made for sniping or other long distances that require precision machining in attempt to gain the most accuracy as possible.
10) Oh and as for the magazine compartment ... so far I think this will be a blind magazine compartment which will just be needing a spring and follower for approx 80.00 or I can install a spacer which caps off the magazine compartment whereby then placing one round at a time to be chambered, fired, ejected, and then placing one more round in .... maybe something like a bench gun .... but I wont know much more on that until I get the stock
That totals just a little under 1,000.
Yep, there was the additional costs for shipping but I got free shipping on many of the orders.
So now there's a couple hundred dollars before hitting that 1,200 mark ... I'm sure there will be some more expenses like approx 40-50.00 for used but fairly good-quality adjustable rear sight and ramped front sight, and maybe a service needed by a gunsmith if we're not able to do it here
