Bought a Blaser R8 Pro Savanna 9.3x62 from Toby. Got to meet Toby today, unfortunately didn't get to see his kitchen counter.

I'm excited to own this beautiful piece of machinery and can't wait to take it to Africa with me. I also purchased a 375 H&H barrel from someone on this forum as well.

Well done. I was out shooting my Blaser's today. Awesome accuracy and ease of use. My 7mm RM liked 5 different brands/bullets - less than 1/2" on 5 shot groups. Enjoy.

Good to meet you today! But we’re going to have to get your barrel numbers up a bit! You’re not really that deep in the hole until you reach $10k! Hahahaha!
Isn't that the truth. I bought my 6th R8 barrel today and was looking at a Selous 458 Lott barrel...geez they are expensive.

Yes those Selous barrels are ridiculous! I have a 458 Lott Selous barrel that I’ve yet to fire. I’ve considered selling it, but I’d hate to have to replace it later!

@PARA45 don’t give up the .375!! Just say something believable, like you lost it, or the dog ate it.

Are you going to put a kick stop in the stock? I find that they balance a bit better with a kick stop and it definitely dampens recoil.

You will surely keep digging in the rabbit hole for a while. When you start designing the layout for a small pelican case, there will be some more components coming to make sure to fill it up. For sure a practice barrel, like a .223. And you’ll need a .22lr.

Oh, well slide that into the little shipment and let me take her for a spin!

Congratulations! They say once you go Blaser you never go back!

I have two R-8s, both professional, one standard barrel grove and a Safari with steel chassis and a kickstop. All my barrels are Blaser standard profile except for the Safari profile .458 Lott, which was made by J.Sips & Son. It has a barrel band swivel stud, hooded fiber optic front sight and a single adjustable rear leaf. Exceptionally accurate and well made. J asked me what I wanted for a serial # so I chose 10011945. My birthday. I was very pleased with all aspects of the transaction, especially the price and the short delivery time, though some on this forum have had different experiences.

Appreciate the heads up, but I was actually involved in the sale. ;) I’ve known both @PARA45 and @TOBY458 for quite a while.

Congratulations to both.
Of course you would be involved in anything Blaser

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
