Welcome! Now we have someone to be in charge of the wine
Hi Jeffrey,
Yes, we do have a boatload of wineries here and it is a “Thing” if you will. I personally don’t care for it but to each his own. My father used too make wine and balsamic vinegar for our Family all the time. If you like wine, a tour of the northern wine areas, Sonoma and Napa are a great place to start and beautiful scenery as well.

Welcome! What part of the central valley are you from? I am from Visalia.
Hello Jason,
what a breath of fresh air. I am not far from you. Just head north on Hwy 152 off of the 99 until you run into the town Los Banos. who would have thunk LOL

Welcome aboard JPetroni. I agree with you 100% that the vast majority of "left-coasters" are of a totally different and probably questionable mindset. You, being a hunter will fit right in. To get started, how about telling us a little more about you as a hunter. Things like what have you hunted in the past, what kind and caliber rifles you own, do you reload. Are you thinking about another Safari? Any particular time- frame. What animals are you thinking about hunting?
Hello Shootist,
you are spot on about the left coast. It is not just the liberal ideology but is is downright socio-communistic in my opinion. Too bad as I do think that CA is one of the more beautiful states in our union. As far as myself, I have hunted since I was a small boy. My family have been farming here since the very early 1900’s.
I love to hunt but really enjoy the getting together with family and friends, does not really matter if we harvest anything. I am also really into the firearm scene such as it is here.

Welcome to the dark side, you should post a hunt report on the good, bad and ugly of your first safari so we can all learn from your experiences.
Hi cls
it was a long time ago. In 2007, the Omay area on the ume river. A lot has changed since Bob Mugabe is now gone, water under the bridge. nothing is perfect and I just roll with it. There is always the next time.

Hello JPetroni,

Khomas Highland Hunting Safaris of Namibia, welcomes you to the greatest forum on earth.

Also, yours truly lived in the Sacramento Valley (town of Colusa) for several years.

Best Regards,
Velo Dog.
Hi Velo Dog.

colusa is a nice area. It is changing rapidly though. Always liked to fish above the OrOrville Dam.

all the best

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
