Non-American ammo manufacturers that produce big bore ammo?

What kind of partnership? If become an 'agent' you assume liability. If a distributor not so much, but this is a contractual issue between the principal and the distributor. If you are a 'private label' reseller you really need to find a way to share any liability with the principal through your contract.

From my own experience the legal aspects of distribution /resale in partnership with an international manufacturer is a significant barrier to initiating business operations.
Thanks, good information. The Devil is indeed in the detail (contract)

RWS don’t they load the 10.3x68 with 400 grain bullets yet ot just the light bullets or did that stop due to various things ?

A cartridge whose purpose can be debated. There is a lot wrong with it, starting with the obsolete caliber. I don't know what RWS was thinking by designing the cartridge 10,3x68 Magnum. In the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland such cartridges are mandatory for hunting bigger game, but this is a very limited market. If you want to use such a cartridge while hunting, you still have the 10,3x60R or the 10,75x68 at your disposal. Both cartridges have proven themselves for more than a century for what the cartridge 10,3x68 Magnum is supposed to be used. There are still rifles and ammunition for both cartridges.

If they had used the 8x68S case it would been something different and new life to the old one . But just use a .300 Win basic case is lazy , mix that with a couple of US wildcats it’s even nore odd . and the wildcats were not only better , buy delivered with 400 grain from day one .

and one was a factory and the best of them

210 revolver bullets up to 400 plus

RWS offers (or once offered) loaded ammunition for the 404 Jeffery (10.75 X 73) with 400 grain projectiles. I believe that DWM provide some big bore cartridges as well.

Sad for our neighbors, but it should make for some bargains on largebores in Canada if they can’t get ammo for them. The only euro ammo I see in Canada with any frequency is Kynoch which is good stuff, but pricey. Vintage Sako ammo too, back when they made largebore stuff.

Regardless of tariffs or embargoes, I recommend everyone get sufficient brass, bullets, and powders so they are not dependent on fragile supply chains. During covid those that didn’t have a cache of components were up a creek without a paddle.
I've been working on just such a supply. I've had pretty good luck with bullets and primers. Although certain bullets (Swift A-Frames being one example) can require patience to find. Haven't tackled the powder yet. But really struggling with brass. It's alarming how rare some of the big bore brass can be to find.

I'm waiting on delivery of a 470NE, and my goal is to assemble enough components for at least 1,000 rounds. If I'm lucky enough to shoot it that much, it will have been a pretty damn good adventure.

All "prepping" aside, 250 pieces of brass is enough to develop your soft/solid loads, reuse those 50 pieces for practice, and to load 100 softs and solids on virgin brass. That's enough for our life expectancy versus amount of DG hunts we can do.

You may think you need more, but you're certainly bringing a 375HH as a backup rifle and therefore you're only bringing around 30-40 470NE loads per safari and using less than half them.

@rookhawk Thank you! As my current total of 470NE brass stands at zero, after searching all online resources I have found for about 6 months now, I would be delighted to have 250 pieces!

DWM made cartridges caliber 10,75x68, but I don't know about anything else. DWM cartridge production ended 1972.
Thank you for the update... I am obviously 50 years out of date.

Suddenly we are scrambling for other sources of ammo after President Cheeto Man initiated the stupid North American Tarriff War of 2025. In retaliation Canada is slapping a 25% tariff on US sporting goods. Too bad that idiot didn't mix himself a Lysol cocktail at his Inauguration Ball.
You guys surrendered after only 1 day of the "tarriff [sic] war"! You must be proud of Trudeau...

Surrendered what exactly?
Quoting NBC News - a media outlet that isn't pro-Trump

"Trump announced the 25% tariffs on the two countries Saturday, with the expectation they would take effect Tuesday. By Monday, he said that he had reached an agreement with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to deploy 10,000 of her country's national guard officers to the U.S. border to stem the flow of migrants and drugs into the U.S. Sheinbaum said she had agreed to establish a bilateral “working group” with the Trump administration that would tackle security, migration and trade.

"The same day, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said he had agreed to beef up border and drug enforcement, as well as appoint a new “fentanyl czar” and designate cartels as terrorist organizations.

"In return, Trump promised to suspend the tariffs on both countries for 30 days."

Trump got exactly what he wanted and both Mexico and Canada surrendered from what you termed the "Tarriff War of 2025."

Trudeau simply conceded rhetoric. Nothing of substance. The "fentynal czar" will have to bring some playing cards to work to keep himself busy. Less than fifty pounds of fentynal a year from Canada into US. Trump should appoint a "Household Pet Cannibalization Czar" to do something about that non-existent crisis.

His new bargaining chip to avoid imposing catastrophic tariffs after the armistice expires is Canada must stop preventing US banks from doing business in Canada. Wait a minute. Half the banking assets in Canada are already controlled by US banks. What's he talking about? No one knows. Because Trump doesn't know what he's talking about ... as usual. Another imaginary complaint. Another example: Trump's campaign promise to get US combat troops out of Ukraine ... when there are essentially no US combat troops in Ukraine. He just dreams shit up. Like Canada being a fentynal pipeline into US. Ridiculous.

What a great way to kick off our 2025 hunting season in South Africa.

This beautiful Impala ram was taken at just over 300 yards, took a few steps and toppled over.

We are looking forward to the next week and a half of hunting with our first client of the year.

Do you have any more copies of African Dangerous Game Cartridges, Author: Pierre van der Walt ? I'm looking for one. Thanks for any information, John [redacted]
