Non-American ammo manufactures that produce big bore ammo?

The FMJ solids which they made for the .404 Jeffery from 1973-1993 were also extremely weakly constructed. With very thin steel jackets.

Strangely enough, the FMJ solids which they made for the .375 Holland & Holland Magnum were of stronger construction. But their factory loaded ammunition for the .375 Holland & Holland Magnum was ridiculously overpressure. Rifle bolts would fail to open after just two or three shots.

Perhaps @grand veneur can shed some light on this.

I have never owned a rifle caliber 375 H&H Magnum so that I don't know anything about the FMJ bullets used by RWS and about overpressure with this ammunition.

As far as the FMJ bullets are concerned, RWS certainly has loaded until the end the classic thin-walled bullets for the cartridges 10,75x68 and 404 Jeffery. So also the loading data in her manual. But when it comes to the FMJ bullets caliber 9,3mm, I noticed that they had a much thicker wall. The same will be the case for the FMJ bullets caliber .375 used for the cartridge 375 H&H Magnum. However, RWS currently does not have any bigger cartridges with FMJ bullets in its range.

Correct, we know the real reason for these tariffs as they have already been stated.

So drop the ridiculous one sided tariffs on American goods as we know Trudeau will do as soon as his temper tantrum is over...... Just like he did the last time Trump renegotiated trade in his last term; Trudeau waited until 10min before the trade agreement expired before he signed it.
One sided? Wow! What news source have you been reading? I see in response to Trump's tariffs Quebec and Ontario have just made it virtually impossible for American businesses to contract with their governments. And where does much if not most of NE USA get its hydroelectric power? From Canadian govt dams. Hmmm. Not going to be fun losing electricity in the middle of the winter.

Hopefully, some of these European manufacturers will jump on the opportunity to fill ammo orders in Canada.

It would be nice if Trudeau just issued a blanket order to search every US vehicle at the border. You can be assured searches will be ramped up a LOT. US tourists will not get a welcome reception this summer. I advise renting a car up here with Canadian plates.
As an American traveling to Canada many times a year on business, I can say we never get a welcome reception compared to the rest of my travels throughout the world.

Share with us the unstated real reasons. I’d like to know
Trump has already stated he plans on eliminating income taxes and believes he can replace that income with tariffs from around the world. He’s acting like a capo demanding his dues from his allies.

He literally just signed an executive order minutes ago to establish a foreign wealth fund for these collected tariffs.

He’s trying to remove the burden of the American tax base at the expense of everyone else.

Less than 1% of fentanyl comes through the northern border, over 85% of illegally smuggled firearms flows north from the US into Canada..

Source?,..... US department of Agriculture and trade, you should check it out sometime - 100%+ on U.S. Agriculture products to begin with such as milk, eggs, beef, chicken, ect, ect, ect and these are prime examples of the trade imbalances as well as why food prices were so high in Canada years before Covid even hit.

This isn't a new issue, last time Trump was in office he revamped trade, and just like now Trudeau threw a temper tantrum and waiting until 10min before the deal was off the table before he signed.

Canada's trade retaliation is noting more than Trudeau's impotent response to resigning because he knew what the alternative was with Trump in office. After all the entire economic power of Canada is less than the state of Texas and the richest providence of Canada(Ontario) is roughly on par with the state of Mississippi......

So by all means keep thinking that Canadian tariffs will hurt Americans we'll see how that works out for you.

OH and FYI you can import all the European ammo you want into Canada, the shipping and European export regulations will make it more expensive than American ammo even with the 25% tariff in place.

On the last point, we currently already import dozens of European, Asian and South American ammo and firearm companies.

PMC (Korean) is likely the current top seller for sporting calibers (9mm, 223, 308) as buying a bulk case of that is much cheaper than paying the same for bulk Federal, Hornady, Winchester etc.

Following PMC, Sellier & Bellot (Czech) and PPU (Serbia) are also big sellers, far cheaper than the US prices I'm seeing, at pre-Tariff prices. This price discrepancy will only further increase starting tomorrow.

Back on topic, Norma (Finland) of all brands seems to offer the cheapest dangerous game cartridges here by far, generally $100 cheaper per box than Federal.

LOL.... It's 1% that is CAUGHT coming across the border from Canada; and as for the illegal guns coming from the U.S. where do the other 15% come from and just like when Mexico complains about U.S. guns - It's your OWN DAMN CRIMINALS that smuggle them in on the same routs as narcotics.

But lets look at this from a public health standpoint, the following death rates are for Canada per 100K residents......

Firearm death = 2.2 per 100K
Fentanyl death = 19.3 per 100k

Sako

Brenneke ( up to .375 )
Sako discontinued it's big bore offerings did they not? I know they used to produce 416 Rigby, 450 Rigby and 500 Jeffery but havent seen these listed for well over a year.

I lucked out and scooped up 200 rounds of their 416 Rigby (Swift A-Frame) loads last year.

I'm not denying the threat of the fentanyl epidemic or the harm it imposes on our society, our country is also suffering dearly from it. Putting the blame on Canada for this crisis is greatly misplaced.

Once again, put the politics garbage in the politics thread. If you don’t have ammo suggestions, there’s no need for you to post.

But on topic, I would be that most Canadian distributors are already working on other sources

Yeah you can buy some of the best ammo in the world from Norma for $100box cheaper than U.S. ammo .... because Canada already had I believe a 45% tariff on U.S. made ammo before all of this.

No, he signed a sovereign wealth fund bill, which are very common. They are investment vehicles.

He supports no income tax and no property tax, as do I. The US government cleverly overtaxes nearly everyone with mountains of hidden taxes and fees. Half the country already pay no income tax and that is the poor half yet they are saddled with all the hidden fees.

It's not possible to erase all taxes from tariffs, so that is not happening.

And you have no idea how much drugs and trafficking are from the northern border - it is fundamentally porous, as Canada proved during prohibition.

Not too sure how we could have had a 45% tariff previously when we just brought in 25%. Unless ammo will be getting cheaper

Back to topic,

Prvi partizan, from Serbia

Fiocchi, Italy

Sellier Bellot, Czech Republic

It's added to the existing in place amount.

Example: Crown royal whiskey used to have a 25% import tax into the USA already in place and now it's going to have a 50% import fee.

Proof?

In my limited search I can’t see anything that shows a 45% tariff on ammo. I’m welcome to be corrected though

Out of all the different color variations of Impala the black Impala just stands out with its beautiful pitch black hide.

Impala is one of the animals you will see all over Africa.
You can see them in herds of a 100 plus together.

This excellent ram was taken with one of our previous client this past season.
