Official AH Get Together In Nashville During Safari Club International (SCI) Convention 2025

Glad to hear SCI is staying in Nashville for a while. Super easy for me to jet down there for a day like I did this year just to talk to some folks and shore up 2026's trips.

It was my first time at SCI, and I agree that the space feels a touch cramped. I went to a professional Textile convention in Atlanta years ago and that space is much larger, but Atlanta sucks.

I understand keeping it on one floor, but signage would help substantially. I felt a bit lost finding registration walking in from the Omni. Luckily SCI had the people sitting around the building to ask questions.

I overheard some of the exhibitors commenting that they wanted the layout to change. Maybe send out a survey?
It is nice that we have the attendee welcome team, that I have served on, to help direct people to the checking desk or kiosk. It can be overwhelming when you walk in for the first time!
Most exhibitors wish for better booth placement. We hear this quite a lot. There is a long established points system based on years of attendance, booth size, and donations. This gives preference to those at the top for booth location.
Doing surveys is always a good idea. Others have stumped their proverbial toe due to not asking questions of their exhibitors and attendees.:)

As promised, I wanted to post a couple of pictures of the beautiful knife that I received.
The engraving sent it over the top for sure.
Again thank you!

It looks like SCI Nashville had record attendance!
It was a great show.

It was nice to meet you and Dalton & York at the same time. After I gave you an AfricaHunting com hat, Tina asked me who you guys were. I pulled up the video we had watched the week before of your cow ele hunt. She exclaimed "That was THOSE guys?" :D

Such a shame they couldn't get a booth.

On the upside Andy Buchanan and the River God crew were there and were so nice to visit with. Tina and I both enjoy watching the TIA videos.

I know SCI has to balance things, and keep the gals happy, but even Tina said there fur, jewelry, etc. were a bit much, and this took away booth spaces that some of our friends might have been able to book.

The clothing, hats, furniture, art and other booths are more closely related to a hunting and outdoor lifestyle IMHO. I'd like to see ine less jewelry booth, and one more Dalton & York booth.

It was great meeting you and Tina at the dinner:)

I think they should do away with all the jewelry booths. I somehow don't think Gina would agree, but it would save us a lot of money ;)

The only one that should stay is the one selling Elephant hair bracelets.

It's all about $$$$. I bet they get back in next year.

I think they let a lot of money walk out the door by not having various food vendors there. Most walked the 2 or 3 blocks to Assembly food Hall. My old PH Cristo was there having lunch when Tina and I went there Friday around noon. If there was a way to keep people on site with food, beverages and a place to sit, folks wouldn't have to leave.

There were more chairs available around the perimeter of the convention hall this year, and that was a step in the right direction.

A food court of some sort, in the lobby or a large side room, was money that could have been made, but wasn't. Whenever people have to leave for basic things like lunch, that's money out the door. Time spent perusing the vendors would be increased, and there is the chance when they go to lunch, they don't return.

Placing alcohol, food and beverages all in one place outside, but in close proximity would also free up space for additional vendors.

Just the opinion of an old overpaid Hillbilly. ;)

Real Ladies like Diamonds;)
I ordered some diamond earrings for Valentines day. Made the mistake of letting her pick them up. She absolutely loves them....... And she also loves the two rings she picked up while she was there;)

I have to admit though.... In hind sight that is kind of like sending me to buy a box of .22 long rifle shells at the gun shop and wondering why I own 2 more guns now.

Action Bob, you have to admit that your wife (Just Gina) has good taste. After all, she married you. LOL
BTW has she seen the other little trinket you showed me at the show? If so, what was her reaction?

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
