On the wall, FINALLY

Excellent!! You have some fantastic trophies :D Beers:

I appreciate all the kind words. It is definitely a labor of love. There will come a point where I am not able to do what I love to do so much in terms of travel, hunting, pursuing adventures and when that point comes I hope these mounts can bring me joy as I remember all the stories associated with each one. They are just animals to other folks but are so much more to me.

I agree wholeheartedly! A lot of people are just taking quality photos of African trophies these days due to the cost and hassle of shipping and taxidermy. While getting some satisfaction out of these photos to me the actual mount or skull really brings out the memories!
I will most likely stop hunting Africa if I get to the just photo stage. This is just me , not knocking what others do.
Again really like your mounts and the layout!

Everything looks great! I bet hanging that buffalo was fun. I’ve got a bison up high and it was a pain

Very, very nice! I am curious about what kind of lift you rented for the project.

Great looking room. I see lots of wall space still available. I like the wood ceiling, I am trying to convince my wife to have wood ceilings in the remodel.

Love it!!!! But I vote to tell your wife that she is wrong about the space,,, there si still plenty of room there to fill with memories

I killed a cape buffalo and baboon in Mozambique in late August of 2021

I picked up them up in Atlanta on 1/6/2023.

I took them to the taxidermist the next week.

I still don't have the mounts.

3 years, 8 months and still counting...

I went on my first cape buffalo hunt in 2022, having been postponed from 2020 due to Covid. I was able to take a nice buff and some really nice PG in Namibia. It took until August of 2024 to get the finished taxidermy home. Due to being gone on another Safari, hurricane Helene and my daughter getting married all last year and the fact I have to have help and a lift to hang stuff in my great room, the undertaking was put off until yesterday, when my son in law was up and my best friend’s son in law were in town to help. All it cost me was a nice dinner for everybody at the local Mexican restaurant and the cost of renting the lift. All minuscule compared to the amount of enjoyment I will have when I am reminded of that hunt and many others sitting in my great room. The new additions to the wall are the lechwe, sable and cape buffalo. Some other stuff got rearranged and this is the final view. My wife says I’m running out of room. Whoa!!!! You sir have a seriously nice room and collection of memories! And what a tribute to the worthy game hunted! Very special indeed!

Very nice trophy room and I can still see plenty of open spots for some great trophies to come.

Wow, fantastic!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful room with us!!

Congratulations. Great collection of Trophies
You will have lot of memories and good time with them.

Appreciate it. We are big fans of the wood look for sure. The ceiling is cyprus wood

We went with painted drywall to help show the animals/mounts better. Me and my wife put lots of thought into how taxidermy would eventually be displayed in the house. A wood backing/wall looks great and darker animals like the sable or buffalo would really pop against a nice stained wood, the lighter color animals don’t show up as well. Several folks I spoke with during the planning stage of building the house recommended the painted drywall.

Awesome trophy room and great collection of animals from around the globe! I am envious of your 22 foot ceilings, wish I had those in my trophy room.

Many of my safaris have included my wife and several have also included my children so I, like you, love to look at my trophies as it brings me back to the hunt and adventure with my family and I get tremendous enjoyment from that.
