Pay It Forward-Free

Quest#1, I will take the Afton VIP package if still available. I just today booked flights for a June hunt, and booking meet and greet and lodging was next in line. Thank you, and I will get something good up first of the week when I return from Easter travels.

@Racer00 PM sent for details.... It's all you! Glad someone will get to enjoy it.
Let me know how the steak dinner was!

Also shows what kind of company Afton is they could have told me sorry it's a loss.... If I ever need that service, I will definitely use them.

I went to the local UPS store up the hill from where I live to mail you your scope.

The young lady behind the counter told me she can't ship "gun parts" because she'll get fined $500,000.

She's lucky that hard eye rolls aren't deadly or she might have been mortally wounded.

I'll go to the post office tomorrow...

Sounds good,
That's why I haven't sold any ammo on here. I don't have a ups service center within 100 miles. Just ups stores and the actual distribution center half mile away.

And just a week or so ago I received scopes and other firearm related items via UPS.

I tried to use logic & facts to plead my case but the impression I got was that the training of the staff at this particular store was "if it's associated with firearms, has anything to do with firearms, you're uncertain but you can imagine it being used in conjunction with a firearm, then consider it a gun part and don't ship it". The girl was pretty obnoxious & I wasn't going to get into an argument about it. It kind of reminded me of trying to buy a beer and being asked for an ID card as proof of my age as I approach retirement. Some people find it easier to just always go overboard than to use common sense. :D

I shipped the scope from the post office yesterday instead.

:unsure:.....USA employee, working in the USA, for a USA company, trained by the same SAPS that train the SAPS officers at the firearms office at the airports.:ROFLMAO:

Usually I ship machine parts
Yes…it’s all in the name. I tried to ship a rifle strap the other day and was told we can’t ship gun parts. Really, it’s a strap of leather and canvas?!?! Like many of you I tried to explain and use logic without any change of outcome.

So, I went back by a couple hours later and shipped a “binocular strap” instead. A few days later a scope was an “optic lens” and a floor plate was a “piece of metal”

I try not to use USPS.

Common sense is something that is nonexistent in today's society.

Common is a misnomer. It's now uncommon sense. Tried to ship a barrel blank at UPS, no good. That was years ago when they went woke. Shipped dozens of thing since then, all USPS, never been back. to UPS.

Is it common practice for UPS to ask exactly what you're shipping? I can understand having to declare ammunition, etc. But beyond that it's none of their business.

It's been my experience, when shipping packages, via USPS, UPS, and FEDEX they all have asked me what am I shipping/mailing and to sign the electronic claimer that I'm not shipping any hazardous items on the poster; ie aresols, chemicals, etc that aren’t allowed to be shipped by air. Declaring ammunition, reloading and black powder, primers are marked/get the hazmat and ground transport labels. Shipping firearms (FEDEX) are a priority, long guns are generally listed with 3 day delivery; handguns have to be shipped next day delivery.

I'm always asked if I'm shipping anything liquid, hazardous, etc. But asking specifically "what's in the box?" would get a "go get stuffed" response from me. Absolutely none of their business as long as it's an innocuous, non-hazardous, non firearm item. I've never experienced any of that around here, nor has anyone else as far as I'm aware. Seems strange.

I guess it is in how they ask what I'm mailing/shipping. I only encountered one FEDEX clerk who half assed tried making an issue of me returning a firearm to the manufacturer for repair. All the paperwork and return label was in order and his boss indicated it was a no brainer for him to process my rifle and change the label to next day air.

We

Some years back FedEx was shipping radioactive materials to my NucMed dept. Once, when a procedure was cancelled and I tried to ship an unopened package back to the radiopharmaceutical company, it kept coming back to my dept with one or more boxes checked as to why FedEx couldn't ship it.

After the second time I called the local FedEx depot. After lengthy runaround, I finally got a super in the dept that handled hazardous stuff. I told him what was happening, that I was well versed on shipping radioactive material, and that there was nothing wrong with the packaging or my paperwork.

Indeed, I told him that since this particular package had never been opened, that if there was an issue with it, I should never have received it via FedEx to begin with.

He sighed and asked me to ship it to the depot with his attention. He said that some employees were so scared of screwing up and shipping something that they shouldn't, that they would mark something/anything wrong, return it to the sender, and hope that when it came back again, someone else got stuck with it.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
