Philip Glass on TIA

Great episode! I don’t know how you got a bullet through that thick brush unless you had an opening the camera angle could not pick up.
Super shot on that Hyena!
Congratulations sir!
The 500g Barnes did it’s work!

Was able to view on you tube, well done, you really are a natural in front of the camera, looking forward to the next installment, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your kind comments!

It appears Andy just uploaded this episode to YouTube a few hours ago. I'm watching it now and enjoying it immensely. Great shots by you on both the Hyena and the Buff. York seems like a great guy to hunt with...very affable but hard working.
York has become a good friend. He is a true professional, passionate about all things hunting, and very fun to be around!

Just watched the episode on YouTube. Great show.

You did a fantastic job on the shooting front. Many people would have never got the shot off on that hyena. Buffalo shot was also impressive through all that brush.
I always advise people in prepping for safari to focus on fast (but not rushed) target acquisition and shooting instead of trying to shoot the tightest group possible from a bench.

Looking forward to the next episode.

Well done all around.
I had the same hyena scenarios happen to me on a previous hunt there. I was ready this time!

Along with 375Fox's question, how far was that shot on the buff? The cameras really do make it tough to judge the distances.
It was about 50 yards, maybe a little bit more. Perfect distance for my double.

@Philip Glass, just watched the TIA show last night as well. Great hunt and congratulations on the Buffalo! That was not an easy shot through all the brush. Perfect Texas Heart shot afterwards as well. Well done!

Thanks so very much! I just crushed another buff in RSA with the double. Report coming soon.

@Philip Glass, I watched your TIA tuskless hunt on TV. What a great show. I'm sure the pucker factor was very high being so close to all those elephants.

BTW, my daughter watched it with me, and at the beginning she was not all that impressed by you hunting an elephant at all. I explained to her the benefits of controlling the heard and how this one ele would feed so many people, and the conservation efforts by the outfitter. At the end of the show, she was all happy with the outcome, and thanked me for showing her this show and asking her to sit to the end. She is not against hunting at all but has this thing with elephants, but not after this show. Thanks for all you do.

I have two episodes on This Is Africa on the Sportsman’s channel now. The first one is buffalo and hyena in Zimbabwe. The next is tuskless elephant and is the season ending teaser leading up to the Tanzania safari that will air first next season. Check it out and let me know your thoughts.
Philip I go to this is Africa YouTube. But how do I go to your two hunts. Can’t seem to find beyond season 5

Was just able to watch your elephant hunt video, well done, looks like a great crew, congratulations

my wife and I watched you elephant hunt and she asked me is that what you want to do next time? I told he yes and her response was you and Phillip are crazy. very good show and hunt

@Philip Glass , your tuskless hunt was an Outstanding episode of This is Africa. It was one of the best hunting videos I have seen. You appeared much like a Jimmy Stewart early (pre-WWII) movie character, humble but confident. I suppose many of us could easily imagine being in your boots during the hunt.

Mark thank you so very much for your extremely kind comments. This episode give me chills as it was a true adventure!

The elephant hunt is Season 5, Episode 9. The Tanzania safari will be on next years schedule.
Thanks for watching!

Great hunts. It’s amazing how many people in the states are brain washed into thinking hunting elephants is bad and they are an endangered species. Mention going over on a buffalo hunt and everyone is excited. Mention wanting to shoot a tuskless elephant and everyone’s demeanor changes until you explain where the meat goes and much of the money goes to anti poaching efforts to assure that the elephants can survive and thrive.

Hi Jay,

Hope you're well.

I'm headed your way in January.

Attending SHOT Show has been a long time bucket list item for me.

Finally made it happen and I'm headed to Vegas.

I know you're some distance from Vegas - but would be keen to catch up if it works out.

Have a good one.

Mark
