Im Shocked the vehicle could still roll down the road after a hellfire R9 impact.
Are we sure that’s what happened.

This video is a regular Hellfire. Not an inert R9 But you can see the force they impact with.

A lot depends on which historian you talk to and the importance placed on time... and which timelines you are observing..

Rome converted to Christianity in 380.. Rome then split into 2 empires just 15 years later (395) and completely fell in less than 100 years in 476...

The Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine Empire) survived until the 1400's.. but it really wasnt "Roman" much at all very soon after the split.. It was ruled from Constantinople, was far more Hellenistic than Latin, etc..etc..

So while the entirety of what was known as the Roman Empire at one time didnt end until 1453.. The Western Roman Empire (what the world had known and understood to be the "Roman Empire" that has been around from 27 BC.. pretty much ended just 15 years after Christianity was adopted (the split) and then what was left of what had been the worlds only dominant super power for almost 500 years completely ceased to exist fairly shortly thereafter in 476...
@mdwest,
Sieben-fünf-drei: Rom kroch aus dem Ei -Seven-five-three: Rome crawled out of the egg

my Latin lessons were a long time ago, but if I remember correctly, the Republic ended in 27 BC.
The main phase of the Roman Empire began around 750 BC
The Christianisation of the Roman Empire was a slow process (Edict of Milan under Constanin 3xysomtime: religious freedom for all) that took place over many centuries, and that even after the official recognition of Christianity, other religions continued to exist in the Empire.
@rookhawk,
possibly England under Henry the 8th.
Abolition of the supremacy of the Pope.
A much more dramatic act back then than it would be today.

Because the AGM-114R9X does not carry an explosive warhead, unless it somehow disables the drive train through kinetic impact, the vehicle's momentum would keep it rolling. I think what is more likely is that the missile penetrates the passenger compartment, the blades fragment, carving up the occupants, and there is little or no conventional blast damage to the target.

This is an automobile struck by an R9 in Syria.

This is a pretty thorough article.

Thanks Sir,

I’ve seen that exact car. And that is how a car should look. My point was that the SUV in the video appears to only have a crease. Unless I am seeing it wrong.

It should be it at more closer to 90 degree
Impact and have total penetration. Not a glancing blow from the horizon.

I could very likely be missing the extent of damage

I see your point. I tried grabbing a screen shot and it isn't all that clear, but it looks like most of the roof is missing? Back rear third hit on the roof could leave the windshield intact. Whatever it was certainly penetrated enough to cut the tank or a fuel line. :E Shrug:

What a great investment opportunity! Lol.

You never know. They bought a big building in Manhattan for $46 million is what it boils down to. When in Nashville for SCI, we stayed at a AirBNB. It was perhaps the most cheaply built townhouse I've ever seen. But it was a bargain for our group of 4 in comparison to staying at a hotel. Furthermore it was roomy, plenty of bathrooms and a full kitchen to make breakfast and have food in the fridge for lunches.

The one we stayed in looked like a cookie at a big Christmas party where there's hundreds of others just like it. In speaking to Nashvillians, this is apparently the driving force behind a bit of urban renewal there.

In Dallas, it was slightly the same. AirBNB in what was an old warehouse, just a few blocks from the convention center and much less expensive than a hotel.

I wonder if that building could be transformed into a money making AirBNB palace and be a huge money maker for selling the units off to investors who then rent them off to the tourists visiting NYC year round.

Red Leg, you’re correct whatever did the damage. hopefully whoever it was purported to be killed is accurate.

that it was the people responsible for the attacks on Jordan

Perhaps but $46 million upfront plus conversion costs, plus operational costs, utilities and high property taxes in NYC doesn’t seem to be an easy recipe for ROI with cheap Airbnb rentals. There are a lot easier ways to make money in this world.

NYC has basically outlawed AirBnb rentals with their regulations.

Good riddance.
They better not replace him with another swamp Senator.

Flush the turds.

If his replacement is one of the 3 Johns.. it'll certainly be an improvement... (although Im not sure much of anything will actually change in the senate if the D's gain any more of a lead there than they already have come november regardless of which one is chosen)..

I am curious, McConnel gets a ton of name calling and memes from the Trump true believers. But, explain to me the reasoning behind that. And yes, I understand the Trump ilk thinks he is a "RINO" whatever they think that means (though by the by, he was last reelected by a nearly 30% margin by his REPUBLICAN constituents). But other than distain he has expressed for the more ridiculous personal antics of Donald Trump, what specific issues should he have done differently - and how would that have been accomplished?

It is true, he has been more interested in governing than in grandstanding - something the Freedom Caucus seems incapable of understanding. I mean if you can't actually stop something, the best you can do is a compromise. I have been surprised he has had the limited effect he has add on the Biden agenda following the Trump debacle in Georgia.

But in our upside down world, Trump is cheered by the unquestioning multitude while McConnel gets memes.

I would suggest, that the last great gift he gave this nation, the current conservative supreme court, is far more lasting than anything Trump did his first term or is likely to accomplish in a lame duck term.

Its not exactly the same but I hope the republicans have a better plan in replacing McConnel than the hose had when they kicked Mcarthy out. Time will tell but my expectations are pretty low.

Some thanks, at least, go to Harry Reid for Trump's 3 USSC appointments.

And certainly to McConnel as well for maintaining his raging "turgidity" WRT what the dems did to Bork and Thomas.

Spoken like a true supporter of the swamp and it's ilk.

Mitch " The Democrats Bitch", needs to go.

I asked for your reasoning. I should have known better.

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
