Joe Rogan has officially endorsed Donald Trump for President, based on his most recent interview with Elon Musk. Better late than never, I suppose...

…Remember folks, the sun will rise again tomorrow regardless of what happens in the next day or few. Life may be different in a way you don't care for, but there's always the possibility of changing things next election.
I, for one, will be glad when vitriol and “sky will be falling if the other guy wins” rhetoric is over. At least, until the next election, I hope.;)

If Trump wins, I think the vitriol will settle down here on AH, albeit I expect a few victory lappers. If Harris wins, not so much. Whatever the case, I'd take a sudden resurgence in arguing about the .30-06 as a proper PG caliber as much more enjoyable over this thread. I'm just wore out by it all.

A vigorous 6.5 Creedmoor or 243 Winchester debate would be a welcome distraction on Election Day. ;-)

Glad that they did it. That being said, one leaves oneself to a lot of liability suits in case of an accident. There are projects we have done where without the "regulations, policies, procedures etc." we could MacGyver it much cheaper and faster. However, that would have given us no legal cover.

In the past we have implemented a multimillion-dollar MES system for the manufacture of an electronic connector that was going to be used in a classified application. The requirement was to have a complete genealogy of every connector. That meant from a serial number one could look at each component of that connector, every step of the manufacturing process for all components, who worked on it, how long, clean room particle counts, temperatures etc., etc.. Was it necessary? Who knows, but it was part of the specifications, and the company spent millions on compliance (it was a big enough of an order for them to build a complete new plant). In this case the government regulation kept a lot of people employed. ;)
Glad they did it. .... Only thing I can really agree with in that whole statement.

MacGyver it? Nobody is talking about MacGyvering anything. They built a temporary road so people can get back to some semblance of their normal lives. Just simply getting back to their homes!

Perhaps you can only see the two extremes of MacGyver something vs. overengineering it to the point you made in the rest of your comment. All that extra employment that was unnecessary sounds like a lot of wasted money and time to me.

This BS is, I hope, part of what Elon Musk is talking about. Unnecessary over regulation. I hope and pray Trump wins and Elon slashes through this ridiculous wasteful spending by the Government. As well as Trump slashing these overburdensome regulations that force this wasteful spending required by the rest of us.

To those of us who live and work in the real World of making a living are extremely fed up with these attitudes and approaches of gowing way beyond reason with regulations and the resulting engineering.

It would be great to get back to making things that function, last, and are reasonable to maintain. And common sense regulations.

The big problem is the states that can't provide results on election night. It may take Pennsylvania 2-3 days, and look how long Arizona took last time

Trump is right. Switch to all paper ballots, voter i.d, and we would know on election night what the results are. Just like France.

Will this thread go away if Trump wins tonight? :ROFLMAO:

One would think that voting machines would be faster. I think it is the counting methodology and officials rather than the method of voting that causes the delays.

I'd hate to go back to the days of "hanging chad" ballots.

Also, all the early voting, 77 million votes as of yesterday, is paper ballots. However, almost everywhere they are not counted until the polls close, so I think that adds to the delay.

In CA one can cast a mail-in ballot on the day of the election and it will be counted when it arrives, that can add days to the final tally.

Good Morning x84958
I have read your post about Jamy Traut and your hunt in Caprivi. I am planning such a hunt for 2026, Oct with Jamy.
Just a question , because I will combine Caprivi and Panorama for PG, is the daily rate the same the week long, I mean the one for Caprivi or when in Panorama it will be a PG rate ?
thank you and congrats for your story.
Best regards
Philippe from France

Hello Doug,
I am Philippe from France and plan to go hunting Caprivi in 2026, Oct.
I have read on AH you had some time in Vic Falls after hunting. May I ask you with whom you have planned / organized the Chobe NP tour and the different visits. (with my GF we will have 4 days and 3 nights there)
Thank in advance, I will appreciate your response.
Merci
Philippe
