Climate change IS a complex issue. Now that free speech is returning to the World, we may be able to discuss this in scientific round tables. Professors were silenced during the lib years unless they parroted the current Green dogma. Looking carefully at the up and down stream effects of various "Green" projects will prove some beneficial, others either a money waste, a scam or actually harmful. At a large student rally in Oz 5 years ago, I watched tens of thousands of students rally to save their World. The fires in Australia had been awful. They demanded action. There was palpable anger at my generation for destroying paradise. ALL of the kids I saw had new cell phones, and arrived by vehicle. They demanded someone.........someone take action and fix this problem. Typical. No one sees their part in this. Anyway, climate has a big affect on hunting. We will not solve it on this forum, but at least NOW we can discuss it............FWB

“Gay” didn’t become common vernacular for “homosexual” until the 1950’s in the US… there’s historical reference of its use prior to that (Cary Grant for example used gay to describe “homosexual” in one of his films in 1938), but it was not common or even remotely typical vocabulary for most Americans until the 50’s… prior to that “Gay” was understood by most people to either be a name, or a descriptor for happiness…

Eliminating Enola Gay is what happens when stupid humans that don’t bother to understand the past, combined with AI that’s solely focused on the spelling of a word and not its use make decisions…

Really no different than Stanford renaming halls and streets that were once dedicated to Junipero Serra, an 18th century priest.. because students in the 21st century found reference to Serra stating that native Americans were a “degraded people” and thought that meant he was a racist rather than accepting that in the 1700’s that was fairly mild language and not racially motivated at all (by 1700s standards I suppose… rather than 2000’s extreme left, California student standards)…

What I think Canadians, Europeans, and Mexicans are failing to understand is… similar sentiment has been brewing here for years… at the epicenter of the whole MAGA movement is a fundamental belief that the US has been footing the rest of the worlds bills for way too long.. and that the rest of the world has essentially been unappreciative of it and has become entitled.. so they’re ready to tell everyone else to pound sand.. (there are other beliefs outside of isolationism.. but isolationism is certainly a big one)

Footing the bill out of generosity, or self interest ?

I could tell you of a few US military bases in my own country which were, and still are crucial to US strategic interests.

Anyhow, I do agree that we should increse our military spending and DIB.

Gay although not as common as it once was is still a normal name here I know several men with gay or some derivative there of as a given name Gaylon Gaylord ect. I suspect that has more to do though with ethnic French acadian heritage than anything else. I would assume the name gay is not used as a given name in the states?
Dated a girl named Gay way back in the day - fortunately she wasn't. :E Angel:

Footing the bill out of generosity, or self interest ?.

Does it matter?

If the MAGA supporters believe it was out of generosity, it’s easy for them to make the leap that the generosity is unappreciated, therefore it should end..

If the belief is it’s out of self interest.. the argument becomes that interests change.. and they no longer believe Germanys defense (for example) is of interest… especially if Germany demonstrates no interest of its own in its own defense..

The point remains, until you convince the right in this country that it’s in its interest to do X (whether out of human kindness or strategic value, or anything else), what is currently going on isn’t going to change..

And silly saber rattling from the like of Freeland, Ford, Trudeau, etc isn’t helping convince anyone..

All it’s doing is further validating their beliefs…

So now it appears that a large number of documents supposedly signed by Biden were in fact auto pen signatures. So the question arises as to who was controlling the auto pen and therefore the government? Could this rise to the level of a coup? And does it contravene your constitution? Surely heads must roll over this.

I haven't done due diligence research on climate change. That being said I have been professionally involved with pollution monitoring for decades. If one were to do a Venn diagram of proposed "climate change" prevention methodologies and anti-pollution methodologies, there is tremendous overlap.

Because something is being proposed as a "green" solution does not invalidate it if it also prevents pollution. Unless it has the word "gay" in it of course.

Here is a picture of Mumbai, India 2010 and 2024. It is important to engage in this internationally.

You would hope so. It questions most everything he signed in the past couple of years including the pardon's.

Rarely do democrat heads ever roll. The occasional low hanging fruit, maybe.
Hopefully the current administration will set a new trend and change that

I'm not in the least surprised by this. Anyone that ever thought he was something besides an empty suit place holder was only kidding themselves. It was like weekend at Bernie's towards the end and he wasn't in charge of anything or likely even aware.

Every time I heard biden did this or biden is going to this I could only roll my eyes. It was a good day for him if he didn't shit his pants and got his pudding and ice cream on time.

my initial thought was "much ado about nothing" since most states recognize an autopen signature as legally binding...

but then I started doing a little reading..

consensus among many legal scholars much more intelligent than I am on such an issue is that use of an autopen by a government official is unconstitutional.. and that this matter has been discussed since 2011 when Obama got caught using the autopen..

https://lawprofessors.typepad.com/conlaw/2011/05/originalism-and-the-auto-pen.html

there might be some "there" there in this case.. if nothing else it certainly gives grounds for a case to be opened and presented to the courts.. and ASSUMING it makes it to SCOTUS (I would imagine something like this would).. the final decision could be no shit game changing in terms of reversing much of what happened during the Biden administration..

Think about it.. a D congress sends a bill to Biden to sign.. Biden auto pens it..

The courts determine auto pens don't count.. therefore the law never really was a law after all..

and now congress doesn't have the D votes or a D president to re-present that law that was desired..

game changing possibility here I think...

The Philippines is another place that could use some pollution control. Spend a day or two in Manila and your lungs and throat will hurt.
It's a country where millions of people still burn trash.

Another legal aspect over the auto pen argument, was the president even in the same room when it was used?

What is the difference between auto pen and the multitude of secretarial signatures on documents ? A lot of historical documents have been signed by presidential secretaries and still been accepted as valid. Not saying there wasn’t corruption in this case just wondering how the president will unfold if those documents are found to be illegal

as I understand it, an autopen (or secretarial signature) in and of itself isn't illegal and doesn't render a document invalid..

the problem is specific to the signing of law.. which requires the President to be in full control, in full knowledge, etc of whats going on..

with an autopen, typically someone else is in control.. and it opens the possibility that even if approved by the President to be used, that he just gave a signature order without reviewing the actual document being signed to 100% know what it contains..

Its more a constitutionality issue (as I understand it) than whether or not an auto pen signature is legally "binding" for something like a contract, or the filing of a historical document, or even sending out a letter to a constitutent, etc..

In Bidens case you add in the question of his mental acuity, which has already very much been in question (wouldn't know what he was signing when he signed it anyway) with the possibility that someone else signed something without his approval or full knowledge of the contents of the law.. and things get especially squirrely..

Texas corn is totally dependent upon fertilizer. I lease fifteen acres to a farmer and he, like everyone else in this area, "rotates" corn on it year after year.

180 to 220 pounds per acre.

So the issue essentially comes down to competency whether or not Biden was in control of his faculties while the action was taking place? Wouldn’t that be very hard to prove after the fact. Short of a medical doctor testifying he examined Biden during the period in question and found him lacking I don’t know how it could be proven in court.

Actually a friend’s wife here in the States had the given name Gay. You’d have to be a mental midget to try to take the word out of the English language. It was a word with a well defined meaning long before it became associated with homosexuality.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
