Thank goodness he is not. The only way anything gets done in the House if through consensus among the majority party. The democrats are excellent at it, we would much rather shoot each other. Bomb throwers only cause collateral damage to their own party. Johnson is indeed Ryan with a southern accent.
The only way things get done in the house is via big checks. How do Eli Crane and a couple others not get assigned to the committee to investigate the assassination attempt on Trump in PA? Having 2 or 3 actual snipers on that committee could've prove quite useful. They don't have huge money/donor backing, that's how.

The world needs its Ned Starks, men of utterly unimpeachable integrity. But the system you defend is comprised of Tywin Lanisters and Little Fingers, not men like you. Our government and society, our treasured institutions, are not what they were when you were a butter bar and I was a rookie Houston cop.

Not on mine either. She was apparently married twice and engaged to a third. She is also well preserved for 59. Unless there is a vacated murder in her closet, she should be a pretty easy confirmation. Pretty sure no one at least will be able to dig up a sexual assault charge.

Was listening to the token liberal on Fox complain about her closeness to Trump. Should that be a line of attack during the hearing, I assume someone on the republican side will be smart enough to bring up JFK's choice of attorney general. :E Angel:
Is that the guy who suggested that the USA should fire on our own ship and say Cuba/Russia did it?

Then perhaps pay attention to Eli Crane and Tim Burchett. Crane is a member of Freedom Caucus, but Burchett is not, though it's pretty apparent he's sympathetic to them.

The big take-away from that video is what it takes to get a committee chairmanship or even committee membership. Call Ryan a curious and ignorant bystander in this one.

I had hoped that Mike Johnson would be a break from the status quo, but it appears he is no different than his predecessors.
Good to know that he can count and do math.

Did you say say well preserved for 59? Masters level in understatement.

Or has a good surgeon and can afford a few Gs every few months for Botox.

Looking at that picture I’d say minimum of $1.8K worth of injections. Not sure about fillers.
I did say well "preserved."

I don't know this reporter but she seems to know what she is talking about. This is a very very strange story regarding Gaetz and the 17 year old girl. If all of this is true, there was a major reason the FBI, DOJ and IC couldn't afford to have Gaetz as AG.

She is 59 no way… they should put her in charge of health and food!

It remains to the seen if she will clean house.

That's a dangerous line, which could be misinterpreted.

Wonder if she'll make sandwiches before cleaning house?

:E Happy:

Eisenhower was the first to send advisors into Vietnam in the 50’s if I remember correctly.

True but JFK wanted them out. Since LBJ was in office during Tonkin, in my opinion he gets to hold the smoking turd!

We've had advisors in lots of places, rarely turns into a full scale war.

Same players/ advisors in “military, political, industrial complex”- then and now. 500-1000 US military personnel advisors including CIA in Vietnam and SE Asia in 1960 and slowly builds to about 15,000 in 1963 under Kennedy admin. Kennedy assasinated Nov, 1963. VP Johnson takes office. Gulf of Tonkin Resolution drafted 1964 by war hawks seizing on headlines and exaggerating small craft attack of limited scale in Gulf of Tonkin. Rapid build-up beginning in 1965 to more than 530,000 in 1968 under Johnson. Johnson decides not to run for next term. Nixon beats Humphrey, takes office January 1969. Officially, war ends January 1973.

Apparently they're quite important skills for rewarding benefactors with deep pockets.

It would appear that Anheuser-Busch is seriously testing the once you go woke adage with a new line of commercials for Bud Light. They have suffered a big loss in market share, so I have no idea if they are too late (almost anything tastes better than a Bud Light), but this is pretty funny.

I just had a news feed come across my computer. It stated that the Capital Police officer that shot Ashley Babbit on Jan 6th failed his FBI background check to buy a shotgun. So the capital police let him borrow one. Wouldn’t it be a felony to allow a prohibited person to carry a side arm and then lend him a shotgun for personal use?

Disclaimer: this was on the internet so it has to be true right?

That from the same site that denies an airplane hit the pentagon?

This of course was not on the scale of 9-11 but when TWA flight 800 went down off Long Island there were, and are still conspiracy theories that a rocket or bomb took it down. Many say they saw a rocket impact the 747.

I was not on that team. But in direct contact daily with the leaders and the guys in the water.

They brought up 98% of the jet and all of the bodies. My contacts said there was no external evidence of a rocket strike. But many still hold that it was shot down. It ended up being an electric short in a fuel tank. There was so much media pressure they housed the guys to the Manhattan project site for a little more security.

I think it was from somewhere called Headline USA, it sighted some house hearings and other such “facts”. Had quotes from the supposedly legitimate transcripts.

Well, at least we snatched a victory for McCormick over Casey from the jaws of the wicked witch of the East, Diane Ellis-Marseglia. Helps to shine a light on corrupt practices, apparently, though the intent for both her and Casey would seem apparent.
