They shut down lakes over a mussel yet kill every living thing underneath solar farms! Have they not seen the videos of mussel eating world record size shell cracker bream in lake Havasu?
Yep, the guy that called me works for a fisheries consulting firm and spends most of his time on the water. One of their reasons was the muscles would add to water clarity. That’s a head scratcher to me . Bivalves are filter feeders and improve water quality and clarity which will promote aquatic vegetation and feed those huge red ear sunfish (shell cracker)and bluegill they have. If I remember correctly the accidental introduction of the zebra mussels to the Great Lakes cleaned them up and revitalized them. That being said it’s almost always a mistake to introduce new and potentially invasive species.

I’ve been out of the fisheries research game for about 30 years and what I learned so long ago may not be valid anymore .

Stupid! They pull that crap but you can't charge your sparkymobile because the grid can't handle it. Something smells really bad here.
Yep, get ready for even more! They are so arrogant that when confronted by facts they talk down to average people and double down on the obsession. One study indicates the demand for energy to power AI will drive energy costs up 70% in the US over the next 10 years. I remember being scoffed at like a simpleton naive fool by two of our well knowns here when I pointed out a new data center (AI) being built in a large SW city that required a complete on-the-grid electric substation for its exclusive use. Also continuing in the news is the serious interest in restarting one of the Three Mile Island reactors after being shut down for the last 45 years. Idiots can’t figure a way to accept nuclear power to generate less expensive electric power for the average American but seem all in on the idea to power special interests associated with AI. Same idiots attempting to knee-cap production and use of natural gas. Same idiots attempting to kill fracking for oil and gas production but all in on pumping CO2 into underground “geologic” storage to sequester CO2… a process which requires using huge amounts of energy in the process. Same idiots pushing fads like clean hydrogen fuel that requires up to an equivalent of using a gallon and a half of fossil fuel to produce an energy equivalent of a gallon of hydrogen. Of course you have to convert all the units to a standard like calorie or BTU but the basic fallacy remains. Just as the TOTAL GLOBAL environmental footprint of solar and wind electric power generation is never explained.

Right now I’m at the point of trusting only what I know and can understand independently. An eye opener is studying examples of large companies like Schneider Electric Intl both overtly and cryptically pushing WOKE / DEI / ESG, obviously using that as a cover to grease the wheels of political favor for fat gov contracts and fuzzy regulation enforcement.

Their Government doesn't care because they have agendas and many of them are very contrary to the financial health of their citizens. I just read an article from the liberal LA Times regarding green energy. California's citizens have seen a 51% average rate increase in electricity over the last three years. Why? Because California is producing way more solar generated electricity than it can use. So, instead of having to shut down solar panel fields to stop producing electricity which is very expensive, they're PAYING, not giving away, all their excess solar produced electricity to states like New Mexico and Arizona to take the excess electricity. New Mexico ratepayers have saved $34 million and Arizona $68 million in electricity costs by buying California's excess electricity instead of producing their own. What is WRONG with this picture? There's more. California is fazing out the tax credits for homeowner rooftop solar panels because they're not using enough of the excess electricity produced by the solar juggernaut. And their Governor Newsome wants to continue to build some 400 square miles of solar panels so they can become carbon neutral by 2050. It truly is unbelievable.
just curious ,who says they are producing more electricity than they can use, because next door to me in Idaho they have a huge windmill project planned and it is supposedly all for Kalifornia

PAM BONDI NOT SUCH A GREAT DEAL FOR 2ND AMEND, I wasnt going to jump back in this ,but I havent seen anyone else say a thing, so the woman everyone thinks is so well preserved is a wolf in blond clothing, solidly against 2nd amendment. she will get dems support to confirm, Dont believe me? check out podcast GUNS AND GADGETS 2ND AMENDMENT, UNLESS TRUMP HAS A DOG LEASE ON HER it dont look good for those concerned about 2nd amend..the evidence is out there. also on AG appointment GATZ it was a total deep state frame him that is so deep it goes to Iran , Isreal, and FBI , you just cant make this stuff up," yea about the sex capade".

Please Lisa. Do it. Or follow Ellen to England.

Like she's really a Republican anyway. I heard on radio today Sullivan voted to confirm exactly 2 (less than 1 percent) of Biden's judicial appointments. Murkowski? 75%

No way she will. She thrives on the limelight. She will be giddy about being a swing vote.

I kinda thought the same? But there are a bunch of stories out there claiming she said it. I think you are right about follow through though. I have never thought of her as Republican anyway.

The few folks I personally know who favor looser immigration policy are either profoundly libertarian or Catholic. It is not a belief held by the majority of Democrats, which makes the Biden border debacle such an incredible unforced error.

A windmill production profile is not at all the same as a solar production profile, they are in fact a bit complimentary. So this still makes sense.

(Although imo solar and wind do not make any sense anyway, when there could be nuclear)

Dumba$$ broad needs to leave the the country with her other like minded asinine kind! A more responsible Senator that is Pro America, Pro American First type, currently a Republican Pro Trump, Pro Vance: Pro America, Pro American First minded type to take her place!

Oh for the day that people will wake up, and will learn to Vote For The BEST Candidate rather than Vote Along Party Lines, or for the asinine all you sniveling others! To return this country, This Nation, back to what it once was: The Greatest Nation on this planet!

The Whoppi Goldbergs', the Soros', the Queer alphabet, etc , etc., etc., are nothing but a plague upon this nation that need to be eradicated so that this nation can flourish once again.

Yes! Nearly three years of war, 700,000 + Russian casualties and almost 400,000 dead; nearly a thousand miles of new border with NATO; the Baltic a NATO lake; Kaliningrad an indefensible outpost; the modernized Russian army so much rusting metal on the Ukrainian Steppes, the ruble at 100 to the dollar; and Russia forced to beg support from its new allies North Korea and Iran. Yes indeed, all is going swimmingly for the little dictator in the Kremlin and the Russian people.
I follow, study actually, your posts on the Ukraine war. Your professional experience is unmatched on this board. Thank you for your efforts to keep us informed based on your real world experience.

What you have said is all true. Yet, the Russians still keep coming.

Recent articles have shown the Russian ruble falling below 1 cent to the dollar and it keeps falling. Predictions are that this trend will continue and that the Russian economy will collapse some time in 2025. This supposedly means that Russia cannot sustain the war. I sincerely hope so but I think the same thing was said about 2024.

I am concerned Russia will "win" this thing if it keeps the land they have taken because that's how they would define a "win".

And finally, if Russia "wins" at least in it's mind, what's next?

This should be a huge worry for Europe and however directly or indirectly, us.

God bless police and other first responders.

I flew with a guy who’s a deputy sheriff during his off weeks. (No idea how that works). He told me that he administers NarCan to someone just about every shift. One thing I found interesting was that if he encounters someone who’s already gone into respiratory arrest, the NarCan won’t help and the person is a goner. So glad that police officer had a partner to administer the NarCan to her right away.

.... California's citizens have seen a 51% average rate increase in electricity over the last three years. ...
What's worse is the water bill. My water bill is between $350-$500 a month depending on the season. A non-profit private water district is a client of my firm, their average client's water bill is less than $100.

Of course, the public water district I am part of has really nice offices with conference rooms that have art, multitude of trucks etc., etc. The non-profit's offices are converted trailer homes. They spend their money on improving their infrastructure not on perks.

Trump puts Mexico and Canada on the clock regarding illegal immigration and fentanyl with tariff threats. In less than 24 hours both Sheinbaum and Trudeau respond positively to dealing with the issues. Interesting how simple some foreign policy buy ins can be.

I guarantee that our Dictator Trudope is just giving lip service and has zero intention of doing anything to stop illegal immigration. The illegals get free shit and will vote liberal for more free shit. Canada is the easiest country in the world to get Permanent Resident status and especially if you’re from a third world country.

Mmm..OK have to ask...why all this because of a mussel....?
Yep, the communist state of California won’t stop until they control every aspects of the people’s lives.
Some lakes are completely shut down and others you have to get your boat sanitized and then wait 30 days before you can launch.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
