yeah lets follow the experts and media. Focus on DEI and then 20 years from now remove China by force from the Panama Canal and the NW Passage. Let’s not use language to dissuade the hostels. Let wait and go to war.

Last months Google Maps shows the Palisades Santa Ynez Reservoir completely dry.

Those dry up during the summer months. We are behind in yearly rains in SoCal as well. Water pressure is not dependent solely on the reservoirs. I would be curious to find out how many wells service Palisades, Malibu etc..

Two smaller water companies are among my clients. One maintains a reservoir and water pressure with 15 wells and pump stations. Under normal conditions, they run only two wells. So, in case of a fire they have 13 additional wells that could run.

Another has 7 wells and two 30' water tanks. They maintain pressure with just one well running. They can also buy water from the district next door in case of an emergency.

City of SB has over a multitude of pump stations that feed the water grid. Additionally, there are huge underground water tanks.

One issue for a lot of districts is the dependence on power. Not every pump station has generators, and they cost over $1M+ depending on capability. We are upgrading a lot of pump stations with the capability to hook up portable or permanent generators.

No extremes. Just facts. I lived it as an employee and have also been an employer in two different industries. Unions came about because of the robber baron days. Those days are over.

Well I have no experience with Safeway, the trials and tribulations there of, or the Safeway union itself but sometimes the Union backing at my mill is a reassuring thing. It has helped wages keep up with inflation, yes above average but we don't exactly just snap parts together or however you put it, or work anywhere near 9-5 mon-fri. spending holidays and weekends with family. It's helped to keep people alive where it's easy to get turned to mush, lose appendages, gassed to death, crushed, melted by steam and boiling chemicals or just blown up. It's helped people keep their jobs when the big heads and their tentacles from Chicago or wherever get angry about a simple interruption to production thinking they could do better. The longest term guys here still don't hit $50/hr for operating building sized machines around the clock and don't have a crazy benefits package. Most of us make considerably less.

Meanwhile, other non-union manufacturing jobs in my area pay "requires second job" money and people get canned for nothing.

As for $100k pickups. I can go buy a brand new base crew cab, 4x4, cruise at 90 comfortably, pull a camper F150, Silverado or RAM for well under $50k. Those $100k trucks exist in part because the market has supported them. Many guys think they need a giant 3/4 ton, 700hp, 120mph, 20,000lb towing capable, diesel monster with a 20" TV screen in the dash with all the pretty trimmings and the banks will give out the loans.

I don't believe Nissan or Toyota are unionized but a base crew cab, 4x4 will still cost roughly $38-45k. A 4runner is even more expensive while being less utilitarian. Why? Demand I guess.

I've hardly been a Trump cheerleader over the last year, but I'm thankful sleepy and his appointed successor for the nomination will soon be out of the WH. I truly do not get the point of insulting Canadians with the 51st state jargon. But this is Trump doing what he does and sometimes there's a method in his madness.

I knew Jimmy Carter put the Panamanians in charge of the canal, however until yesterday, I did not know they handed it over to be run by the Chinese. How could you possibly think this a good thing? I would guess you don't. So perhaps over the last 4 years with sleepy at the wheel and the Obama bots doing what they've been doing and ignoring the growing threat of China, perhaps this is a good start in halting that advancement and reversing it?

Greenlanders apparently feel they've not been the recipients of anything positive from the Danes colonization and that they have something to bargain with in resources. Would you rather Denmark in charge to prevent Russia and/or China moving in, or would your rather the USA be there if not in charge then at least working in cooperation with the Greenlanders?

God knows, cooperation is different from the threat of annexation. I don't have to threaten the inhabitants in order to maintain Western/American shipping lines - hello.

Perhaps this is why the residents are not so happy with the Danish gov’t who have create a socialist utopia just across the water. Seems there is a foundation for mutual benefit to be had for the US and Greenland residents.

If the current Greenland residents are for it and benefit what leg do the Chinese stand on? And just exactly when did Trump use military force to take over another country or territory? I don’t see anything that supports an argument that Trump is threatening to take Greenland by force?

In fact one of the main criticisms of Trump has been in regards to Ukraine, that he would in the name of stopping the war, give in and stop supporting the Ukrainians who are willing to fight for their country and have not asked for US troop involvement. Your argument makes no sense and seems to be based on your disdain for Trump, in other words an emotional argument.
