"Jacob J. Lew, told NPR on Friday that the unpredictability of Trump, and concerns about what his administration would do if a deal is not reached, are driving the momentum."

Yeah, no reading between the lines needed there.

That won’t stop the mainstream media and democrats from taking all of the credit.

The only positive contribution of the Anthony Blinken Biden term was Norway and Sweden joining NATO. And it is a monumental contribution.

SO !

Does Blinken and Biden deserve credit for that huge NATO expansion.

Personally I think you can thank Putin for that one. Perhaps NATO should give him a medal!

Norway has bien a Nato member since 1949!!

Sorry, I’m worse than Biden. Giving credit to Biden for Norway joining. Finland and Sweden.

I do think the Ukraine Russia war moved them to join. But Biden will take, and get the credit. I was hoping someone had some more behind the scenes knowledge if Biden actually deserves the credit or if it was a multi National group that pushed them to join.

Either way it was at least one positive thing that came during the Biden Reign

Yes and please pass the lefse and lutefisk! Actually, just pass me the lefse. I'm not a fan of lutefisk even though I am half Norwegian.

Actually, the fires are due to HUMAN non-intervention. Not clearing dead trees, brush etc., etc..
I'm sure you know that is what I meant as well... Dumbass liberal/environMENTAL policies that either prevented dams etc being built for known issues as well as policies that turned the bush into powder kegs.

So once again taxpayers will pay for these government screw ups.
Time will tell if the CA taxpayer is thrilled enough with the state/local response to continue to vote for the same type of ass clowns they always have.

Bidens inability to influence world affairs (like Russia invading Ukraine) certainly played a part…

He should take credit…

Not for his skills though…

The result came from his incompetence…

What I am is anti bad criminal, wherever that may be in the world. Just watch some clips of the abuse the police receive from bad actors, for example on traffic stops, it must take all the control they have not to lose it. Then look at the statistics of the police killed in the line of duty. They do an enormous amount for little or no gratitude, and even a put down from people like you.
If they don’t like it they can look for another job.
I’m anti bad cop and anti violating of the Constitution.
More cops violate the Constitution than protect people’s rights.

FYI,
Posts like this make it very difficult to take you seriously...

He never does…

Just another unqualified and unsubstantiated opinion…

I am not a police officer but I am a retired US Marine who knows that police have a tough job day in and day out. Some are the greatest human beings ever born and some are assholes every day. Most are however decent people who from time to time have a bad day. Who doesn't? Give a cop a "ration of shit" for which your ration is the 10th one he has had to swallow that day, don't be surprised if he craps all over out.

This reminded me a couple fictional quotes,

Deputy US Marshall Rayland Givens said in an episode of Justified,
"If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."

Sergeant Buster Kilrain in the movie Gettysburg said to Colonel Joshua Chamberlain,
“Any man who judges by a group is a “pea-wit. You take men one at a time."

The British MOD has publicly published its casualty estimates for the Russian army for just 2024. In spite of the ridicule heaped on such estimates by our periodic Russian apologists, most who are actually informed on the subject treat those numbers as the most accurate being compiled in the West. The US releases no detailed casualty counts, but typically points to the British estimates.

The MOD has determined that the Russian armed forces lost 429,660 total casualties (KIA/WIA) in 2024 alone. That is nearly double the losses of 2023 which the MOD estimated at a then shocking 252,940. At this pace, this war will see Russia easily surpass a million total casualties before it ends. The MOD estimates that total Russian casualties for the war now surpass 790,000.

It is worthwhile remembering that modern Russia is not the Soviet Union. A nation of 140 million people, it was already suffering a fairly dramatic collapse of birth rate among its population - particularly among the European Rus. These sorts of losses will only serve to accelerate that economic time bomb.

Those casualties are increasing dramatically because of the human wave tactics being employed by the Russians and lack of armor to offer protection and fire support to these attacks (and continuing inability of the Russian Air Force to operate over the front). The Russian strategy seems to be to attempt to seize as much ground as possible prior to any negotiation whatever the cost.

Meanwhile, the Russian economy continues its accelerating drift toward true collapse with the Russian government considering extreme measures to attempt to postpone the crisis.

In whatever negotiation emerges following the inauguration, I hope Trump realizes that though Putin still holds substantial parts of the four provinces annexed in the early stages of the war, he, NATO, and Ukraine hold a very strong hand.

Betting on lefties and marxists (but I repeat myself) thinking logically or critically is long odds.

Nugget here. A guide gave me the nickname as I looked similar to Nugent at the time. Hunting for over 50 years yet I am new to hunting in another country and its inherent game species. I plan to do archery. I have not yet ruled out the long iron as a tag-along for a stalk. I am still deciding on a short list of game. Not a marksman but better than average with powder and string.
