I agree that the right President can obviously have a huge impact on national sovereignty and security. ( which by the way was the President’s chief concern back before we got so fat, dumb and lazy)

The age old BS argument from left and right. “We need comprehensive immigration reform”.

In other words we are too scared and lazy to enforce current laws. So let’s put on a show for the sheep and talk to cameras for another 4 years.

At the airshow some years back, B of A had marketing reps trying to sign people up as customers.
A lady walked up to me and asked who I was currently banking with? Told her it was none of her damn business. After giving me the stink eye, I told her B of A was a goon squad of anti 2nd amendment executives, and I would be ice skating in hell before I would ever sign up as a customer.

Firstly, zero illegal crossings in unrealistic... However, he is asserting that NO POTUS can have a significant impact on illegal immigration, and that is an opinion, not fact...

The sad facts are that current immigration laws that we have had in place for decades have not been enforced... The immigration system in this country needs reform to account for new challenges, but basic enforcement has been non-existent for the last 4 years... Trump was the first to make a serious attempt at enforcement during his first term and the results were significant... The fact that a POTUS has to resort to EOs to enforce immigration law is a pitiful testament to the failure of Congress in passing and facilitating the enforcement of these laws along with the necessary personnel and infrastructure...

Regardless, Trumps EO's will have a significant impact and are far better than not only the lack of enforcement, but the encouragement and facilitation of illegal immigration by this last Administration...

The only time they slowed down to a trickle was during the 2008 crisis during the mortgage crisis.

I thought they had slowed down quite a bit with Trump’s former “Remain in Mexico” policy and with the cooperation of Mexico’s former President? But you’re right they’ll never stop though.

Unfortunately Doubleplay is correct. Illegal border crossing will never get to zero. But 1000 per month would be much better than 10,000 per day.

Also, this 14th amendment argument would not even be an issue if we were only talking 1000 illegal immigrants per month and maybe 100 births per month.

The reason it’s such an issue is it a cottage industry to get your butt onto this dirt before you drop a baby?

Border crossings will be zero when there is no demand. The US Chamber of Commerce plus the dems have avoided outrageous, punitive fines to small through large businesses for hiring illegals.

If you don't want illegals, make it a company ending financial holocaust for hiring one. Game-set-match. Without jobs, no illegals. Without benefits for illegals, no illegals.

Your produce will go up, and getting a roof put on a house will be 250% of present cost. But, you do save hundreds of billions on enforcement, prisons, welfare, schools, welfare for the legal and presently unemployed, healthcare, etc. Oh, and your kids will stand a better chance of going to a decent university with all the newfound available seats.
