I’ve long held that 90% of the federal government needs to be abolished.
If a few babies get thrown out with the bath water………Well, we’re overpopulated anyway.
Do you have a plan for how everything will get done if 90% are let go? Love to hear it!

Contractors

To play devils advocate.

If it costs XX to perform a task the government could theoretically do that’s for XX (cost including labor). A contractor would have to charge the government XX plus some about to make a profit. Otherwise why would they do it.

Shouldn’t he idea be to make sure the government is doing the task as efficiently as possible and not spending tax payer dollars on the task plus the profit of the contractor?

I know that’s hard to get to and not always realistic. And I know not all government tasks need to be done. But as a taxpayer I’d rather all the money be going to the task and not to profit a contractor performing the task.

I’m truly in the small middle ground here. I want to cut down on waste but I do see the economy of scale when the government can perform tasks on a broad basis.

You don’t understand the defense contracting business…

In many fields a govt employee is actually more expensive than the contractor because govt benefits costs are immensely more expensive than private sector benefits.. and govt unions drive up wages as well…

You also have long term legacy costs with govt employees… they don’t exist with contractors..

And you also have performance benefits with contractors.. if they don’t perform, they get removed, it’s that simple..

It’s not that simple to terminate a tenured govt employee..

SOMETIMES a govt employee is cheaper in the short term..

They are however almost without exception significantly more expensive in the mid and long term..

The agencies they work for shouldn’t even exist.
Show me in the Constitution where a Department of Education, Bureau of Labor, USDA is authorized. It’s not.
Outside of ports of entry, immigration, State Department, and our military the federal government has very little Constitutional authority.

I believe most of the cuts are for deadwood. Govt agencies and bureaus are notorious for having excess personnel. If 5 bodies could do the task, the govt will have 10. That's 5 salaries, benefits, etc. that are totally unnecessary.

That’s better than nothing but not perfect.
I’ll take what I can get however. Ideally 90% of the federal government would be abolished not just the deadwood.

I could very well make the error that it was a 1904 Mannlicher Schoenauer, a Steyr (the popular modern civilian alternative of JFK's era), or that it was a Dutch Mannlicher or a Hungarian Mannlicher.

Do tell; just what do you mean by a "1904 Mannlicher Schoenauer"?

There were Model Y1903 'Greek Contract' Mannlicher Schoenauers stamped 'Steyr 1904' (and other years) as they were produced in such year, but there was never a 1904 model MS.

The Carcano was an Italian designed and produced weapon which had no relation to Steyr or to Mannlicher other than having employed a Mannlicher patented feed system (en bloc) that predated the Mannlicher Schoenauer.

The Carcano's magazine protruded from the bottom of the rifle, loaded from an en bloc (Mannlicher Packet Loading System) clip unlike the Mannlicher Schoenauer's 5 round rotary mag which nestled within the stock.

The Warren Commission mislabeled Oswald's Carcano as a 'Mannlicher' and the error is still repeated.

Back to the “Dirty Deeds not Done Cheap” by USAID.

With a little curiosity and searching skills. You will find that every tactic used nefariously overseas by the groups indirectly and covertly funded by USAID. Has been used internally for decades. A few examples.

Hillary Clinton’s State Department and the CIA funding the rebels to overthrow Muammar al-Gaddafi. Remember how she and Obama fell in love with the Muslim Brotherhood. And of course inside that group were the same people we were fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Tools they use abroad and at home

Buy off the media through back door deals. The money sent through many hands to clean it.

Pay for “organic” unrest and protests and hopefully riots. What is gained by riots. You hope the opposition clamps down so examples of extremism can be shown to the world. As an example of what your team has been guarding against. The other team is Hitler. See, we told you so. And we will protect you against Hitler. (Jan 6th???)

There will be another uprising soon similar to BLM and the summer of love. and they hope Trumps team will over react.

Does anyone still think the “summer of love” was organic. It’s one of the same plays used all over world by NGOs indirectly funded by USAID and the State Dept.

It’s does sound crazy. But these are only a few of the tools in the toolbox to plant unrest where you need it. And if you deny our government hasn’t done it all over the world for decades you’re very naïve.

So then, once you realize they’re very good at it all over the world why wouldn’t they use it here to get what they want. And to protect us from Hitler. Small wings inside the CIA and State Dept primarily

Man I hope it doesn’t get done!!! The federal government is doing so much that it has no business doing. It just needs to stop. Look at the DOE, one of the largest departments, and tell me what they are doing that you want your federal government to do? Jimmy Carter created it with the mandate that we would always pay less than world price for energy. That has never happened and will never happen. It is a global commodity! What an absolute travesty.

The federal government should provide critical infrastructure, protect personal property, and defend our nation, period.

We’ve found something we agree on!

DOE

The Feds can set a standard and each state meets the standard however they chose to get there. Or lose their funding.

If unions want to get onboard fine. School vouchers for inner cites and minorities trapped in a cycle of poverty.

Democrats lose a huge source of political funding from union slush funds.

But we weren’t just talking about defense contracting. There are a lot of government functions that require a different model than that.

I’m for smaller government but it’s important to acknowledge that there are a variety of functions that require different approaches. It can’t all be done through contractors.

Sorry, I was referring to the Dept of Energy, but I don’t disagree with you.

As to your knowledge of Canada and Canadians, I am quite certain that I am far more qualified to comment, but it’s really not worth further discussion.

LOL...

Are you the new Canadian ambassador, or have you been elected by Canada to speak on behalf of all Canadians? Please tell me how, on earth, did you manage to speak with all 41,288,599 Canadian citizens about their feelings toward Trump & U.S./Canadian relations?

While you are at it, please tell me how it is that you are more qualified than I am to comment about my own personal experiences? Making such a statement is a truly special kind of arrogance...

If an administration had 10 years to get its arms around the ridiculousness of our monstrosity of a bloated out of mission scope government. Then it could use a scalpel and take more time.

When you have this level of wasteful spending and billions flying out the window to every corner of the planet. And 2 years to at least halt that waste. It may unfortunately impact legit operations.

When your house is set on fire by arsonists. a fireman may cause damage with water putting it out.

Do you blame the damage on the fireman putting it out or the arsonist?

Good grief, I’m Canadian Sherlock.

Did watch Vance's speech today in Germany?
Yes. He basically advocated to vote for nationalist far right parties.

Good grief, I’m Canadian Sherlock.

And I'm American, but I never made the assertion that I speak for every American on any topic, nor do I have the qualifications to speak about your personal experiences of which I have absolutely ZERO knowledge "Sherlock"...
