Not at all. Barring a Russian collapse, it will end in negotiations and I would further predict Russia will retain Crimea and likely the eastern half of the Dombas. I think it is ridiculous to deny Ukraine the right to join any international body to which it aspires. The fact that Finland, now a NATO member thanks to the strategic genius in the Kremlin, shares nearly a thousand miles of border with Russia, much of it in marching distance of St. Petersburg puts a lie to that Russian concern. Russia currently occupies portions of two other solidly European oriented oblasts that a simple ceasefire will leave in Russian hands. It is unlikely a Trump administration will force them to do so. Ukraine realizes all of this very clearly, and is determined to fight for a just settlement that can be enforced.
So for you it all hinges on a NATO membership?

Putin doesn't want Nato encroachment. The US wouldn't want Russian, Chinese, or Iran encroachment in Mexico.

Can you imagine a Cuban missile crisis today? The Cheneys would be picking their chops however. This coming from a Bush/Cheney voter, albeit more informed 20 years later.
Had the West been a lot less worried about what Adolf Hitler desired in Munich in 1938, it would never agreed to his "last territorial demand" which led to the occupation of Czechoslovakia and then invasion of Poland. Putin has clearly stated his strategic goal of recreating a Eurasian empire on the model of the Soviet Union. The West, through its primary strategic alliance, would be a fool to not take him at his word. Eastern Europe fully incorporated into the Western defense structure is a huge barrier to those aspirations. Ukraine, like Finland, can and should be a key element of that barrier.

No, but it does hinge on some sort of security guarantee. I personally think a multilateral one is better for the US than a bilateral one - real or implied through some economic arrangement. But the later would likely work.

Maybe Trump is a Russian agent?…

Ironic that you quote a NYT article to make that old claim in a topic regarding Ukraine.

A paper with a rich and documented history of propaganda. Specifically, known for supporting Stalin (who was um... Russian) by suppressing knowledge to the US public about the holodomor (which was... You guessed it... Ukraine.)

They also have not seen the light in modern times and have been found to have compromised agency due to taking money via USAID.

When not making fun of his height, many of Zelensky's critics seem to be real sartorial experts. I know history is of little interest, but I thought I would share a wartime photo of Churchill while visiting the Whitehouse. It was a quasi uniform/ jumpsuit that he often wore throughout the war.

And a great next step would have been this deal solidifying US interests both economically and militarily being the minerals are militarily stategic, to aid in prevention of a Russian Eurasian objective.
I fully expect it to still happen, regardless of Zelenskys multiple attempts to amend it from the US administrations acceptance.

This is a timeline of events generated in the UK which reads as matter of fact. “Separatists” is used with frequency. It is good to read. I don’t pick up a right wing bent but I could have missed it with my 8th grade education and all.

And your point is? The referendum conducted in May 2014 under the gun barrels of the Russian advisors and irregular troops like Wagner went exactly as Putin desired (just like one of his own "elections"). It is why it was universally condemned by the US, the EU, and even the UN. This was just two months before those same "separatists" using an advanced Russian ADA system shot down a Malaysian airliner.

Churchill was 50% american..

Trump is no friend of old treaties and international law.
I therefore believe that the Taiwanese will also have restless nights now.
Do you think he will stand by them when China opens its maw?
Since yesterday at the latest, there could be justified doubts.
What a political world it has become in just 1 month.

The real difficulty is not the mineral deal.. If Ukraine wants it that is up to them..

But making a lasting peace will be very hard. I agree that Crimea and Donbas/Luhansk is lost...sad.

What kind of military security can Ukraine accept..? Russia will not accept foreign troops as a buffer between the countries.. Russia will veto NATO membership for Ukraine..

How far is Trump willing to go to please Putin..? We dont know.

Russia is also talking of a push-back for NATO in eastern Europe...whats that..? Removal of US troops..? Rejection of NATO membership for some of the states close to Russia..? Removal of nuclear weapons from western Europe..?

Who shall pay for rebuilding Ukraine..? Russia is not to be hold accountable for their insane war..??

If you think Russia has veto power in NATO, I would seriously question your grasp of this entire situation.

What's the point of those two remarks?

History seems to be obviously very important to the vast majority of this group.

Looks like Europe is coming together.

Now, one question. With Trump in his corner could Putin be emboldened enough to use a tactical nuke at Kyiv? I could see Trump and Vance saying it was Ukraine’s fault for not accepting “peace” and blame them rather than Russia.

Are you competing for the most stupid comment of the day?

Trump must be doing something right to get the Eurotards to scramble in Zelinskyy's defense......lol.
They've done nothing but sit on their hands for 3 years while Biden was destroying the world

I honestly believe that every “Trump is a Russian stooge” comment in the western press is worth 2x criticism of Ukraine policy when evaluated in Moscow.

If you compare Trump’s public comments about Putin to those of Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, and Nixon towards Khrushchev and Brezhnev they’re fairly similar. All of that was at the height of the Cold War, no less.

$9 trillion dollars spent on foreign wars since 2000. Parallels to WW2 are probably meaningless. Time to move forward. Listening to those with a market portfolio made up of weapons stocks has gotten us to this place. The "Knowledgeable experts" opinions are apparently worthless. No, Russia is not going to "nuke Kyiv." Absurd. (It is the US that left the nuke treaty and destabilized the World) The fear tactics have played out. They are false. Time for peace. On a brighter note, the Kurds stopped fighting in Turkey for the first time in 40 years. Maybe there is new hope for the 46 other conflicts currently raging around the globe. If it gets too quiet, we could always attack the UAE or The Saudis......after all.....they are not democracies and we can't tolerate that, can we? Rest assured, there will be plenty more wars. ... Let's stop wasting your kid's future in declining Europe..............FWB

This is the same thinking of Zelensky.

What does Ukraine get?

Peace

US personal and companies on the ground that Trump will fiercely protect and Putin knows this.

Technology and infrastructure investment to move materials. All of which the Ukrainian government and civilian companies have access to that can now be used to mine, refine, and export to a host of other countries tries.

Titanium and Lithium are in such demand outside of China that Ukraine is literally sitting on Trillions of dollars worth of investment and exports and they just need a partner to access it

As for Putins demand? No Ukraine admittance to Nato. Ok, won't be needed with the amount of US interest there.

And thus just to start. Once the US has more infrastructure there, developments to Ukraine agriculture are sure to follow.

Edit: it's noted that Ukraine has an unfortunate geographical proximity and border to Russia amd their intertwined history. Nothing can be done there until Russia allies itself with the west, so Ukraine has to have more concessions that others. It's just the hand that's been dealt.

Think they had a pretty good agricultural system going before the invasion.....

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock

I saw you were looking for some Swift A-Frames for your 9.3. I just bought a bulk supply of them in the 285g. version. If Toby's are gone, I could let 100 go for $200 shipped you are interested.
Thanks,
Gary
