I really hate what's going on with the gamesmanship with Canada, totally unecessary. Deewayne2003 hit the nail on the head, but the presumptive incoming PM is no different than Trudeau. The childishness could have been avoided.......maybe.

Canadian leader apologizes, and cancels extra tariffs on electricity.
He wants to sit down and negotiate.

Where are you reading or hearing this?

No dispute there at all, and yet, it happened.....

Seems my last reply was out of sync with the string....

Agreed. I don’t want my previous posts to be misunderstood. On the whole, I don’t think Trump’s rhetoric with Canada has been necessary and I get that a lot of it is found insulting by Canadians.

I just don’t think fears of violence/invasion are realistic and that if such a fear exists, it’s being whipped up by the current Canadian government for political gain.

The dialogue is viewed by most as being the rantings in someone who doesn’t understand Canada at all. So there is anger, but also a lot of bemusement. Canadians are prone to humour to call out what they don’t like. Our response is probably a lot like the response in Europe. When an elephant starts to prance around you are wise to act with self preservation in mind. But that doesn’t mean you think like the elephant. Americans will never really comprehend how different other countries think. And, their honest, heart felt belief that everyone else has it wrong will forever prevent them from learning from what is good out there. Trump is the personification of a culture that the rest of the world does not ascribe to. C’est la vie. If it works for the USA then we will probably be happy for you. In the meantime we will adjust ourselves to deal with the prancing elephant.

Can you show me some data about the actual numbers of both crossing the northern border?

There are number of posts on this above.....Southern border is the big culprit, we all know that, but there has been a sharp increase in illegals coming from the north the last couple of years....the drugs debate was also made, with a fellow Canadian saying you don't have a problem there, where someone else pointed out you do but your gooberment is telling y'all you don't.....my guess is there is a problem emerging, though it's not anywhere near what we have in the south....at least not yet.

Hello Pot, my name is kettle......

To my friends in Romania: Sorry to see that riots have started. Expected, I guess. Your election was overturned after Calin Georgescu won... because of " Russian Collusion" and "He's a Fascist".....sound familiar? Even Elena Lasconi, who was a defeated candidate says "where's the proof?". When it got to looking like Georgescu would win the new, "fair" election, they barred him, and are now arresting him. The EU Globalists are the true enemies of democracy; (saying they would take over Germany if a conservative candidate won), but you gotta admit, the CIA only spent $20.7 million in Romania last year....a lot of bang for the buck with this coup. ...............stay strong....FWB

Sounds like you have the same misconception of us Yanks as Europe does. We are the most generous people on this planet, always jumping in the "help" without any thought about the consequences or costs, short and long term. The reason the world is in shock right now is that for the first time in decades we have leadership looking at al this "help" from a ROI, common sense, fraud, and waste perspective because we have "helped" ourselves into damn near bankruptcy. It's flat not sustainable. NATO, the UN, foreign aid, trade arrangements, tariffs, et all the US has been predominantly on the losing side of the equation due to our generosity, and self-service poor leadership. The majority of our country finally said ENOUGH!!! and put someone in who promised to yank this crap back from the brink.....he's doing that, may not always agree How he's doing it, but he is doing what he promised.

C'est la vie?? Sure, when Canada and other countries are on the winning side of things at our expense you can be fat, dumb, happy, and uppity....how about y'all meeting your NATO commitments, for example. Canada doesn't even meet the minimum on that score, so guess who is picking up the slack? And that's just one of so many things the US collectively picks up the slack for, if not most or all the bill for across the globe. We the US taxpayer have pretty much had enough and the rest of the world can piss off as far we are concerned with their Hurray for Me and Screw You attitudes and whining.

In spite of the name of the party, the National Socialist German Workers' Party (Deutsche Nationalsozialistische Arbeiterpartei) definitely was not a socialist left movement. It represented an extreme right wing ideology focused on obedience to the will of a Fuhrer (Leader). The movement was classic fascism.
You should give a read to "Ominous Parallels" by Leonard Peikoff. It's at least food for thought.

In point of fact, Bismarck did hijack Marx and put his own German spin on it, to the great chagrin of Marx.

I agree with most of your post... but the above is where I think you're missing a very key component..

Its not that Americans believe everyone else has it wrong...

Its that they genuinely don't care that anyone else thinks they have it right..

There is a stark difference in those two statements in terms of how it impacts mindset and mentality..

As an American, I can understand the angst that many of our friends are feeling at the moment with the Trump Administration. Trump is the outward personification of what most American's are feeling at the moment. American's are tired of being the worlds policeman. Tired of unequal tariffs. Tired of budget deficits that will hamstring our children that have benefited other countries that seem ungrateful. As @mdwest has said, at the moment most American's don't care about other countries and just want to get America's house in order and to be dealt with on a fair basis by others. As @wesheltonj said, the last thing Trump wants is two more liberal senators and four dozen primarily liberal congressmen, regardless of the 51st state retorque. Trump found a scab with the 51st State line when Trudeau went to Mar a Lago and said Canada can't be a country without tariffs with America. Trump will continue to pick at the scab until Canada gets the border closed, stops fentanyl and starts negotiating with tariffs. Then, the 51st state retorque will end. It's really not that difficult.

Trump plays to this base by pissing our friends off. Don't feel too bad about it. He does the same thing by pissing off 40% of Americans. With the initial 25% tariffs leveled at Canada and Mexico related to the border and fentanyl, Sheinbaum was the first to sabre rattle but quickly determined the best way to proceed was by working on the border, fentanyl and start the negotiations related to tariffs. This has put Mexico a month ahead of Canada and probably many months ahead of Europe. The leaders of Canada and Europe are playing to their populace. How long will this go on. Is Trump going to back down. I think we all know the answer except for the leaders of Canada and Europe.

Always find it strange when the Socialist left acuses others of using Socialist left symbols or gestures.
You have no idea about history or faschist symbols.

Morning Rob, Any feeling for how the 300 H&H shoots? How's the barrel condition?

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
