R8 Custom Barrels-Dream Come True!

In most cartridges you can get in proof steel barrel. A few, like the 22 creedmoor I ordered, are only in carbon fiber.

Give us a report on how it turns out - service, quality and accuracy!

Hope you US guys appreciate how good you have it!

I’ve been waiting for my Blaser R8 for a year here in Canada as of Feb 20. Blaser’s barrels have been getting turned back at the border by CBSA unless they are assembled into full rifles. That, combined with Blaser’s infrequent production of non-standard barrels has meant a long wait for my threaded 375 H&H, 6.5 PRC and 223 barrels.

I saw my dealer had a 25.6” barrel 375 with iron sights and a 300 win mag 25.6” threaded in stock so I changed my order and took them! Not exactly what I was initially planning, but a great two cartridge combo to hunt the world. Now debating whether to buy a 22 LR kit as well as the 223 I’m waiting for…

Must be comfortable to Canadians not to have to worry about thugs with taste taking down the local Sac-O-Suds with R8's.

Maybe your problems will subside when daddy T makes you into the State Of Canada, USA.

I did get my 7 PRC barrel, 20”, 8 twist, steel PROOF from Evolution/TSA. It fits my standard R8 stock receiver no problem.

I shot 20 rounds of Barnes 160 LRX and 10 rounds of Hornady 160 CX:

LRX averaged 2936 fps. Best 5 shot group 1.5" @ 200.
CX averaged 2816 fps. Best 5 shot group 1.9" @ 200.

Just like the last barrel, great customer service and a nicely finished product delivered in a few weeks.

Never heard of Evolution TSA.

The other two people making Blaser barrels in America either suck at it or are crooks.

Sorry, tech-induced misspelling. Evolved Ballistics sources the barrel blanks and Texas Sporting Arms finishes the barrels:

I agree with you 50% on that. I’ve had good luck with Pale Horse. Is that not the case any more? The other place took in a rifle of mine and I’ve never seen it since

I actually had a bad Elmar barrel.

Here in Germay we have Bix N Andy that do barrels for Blasers. But they don't actually ever do them. They are too busy making triggers. I know dealers that have 20 barrels on order and they have never filled the order.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.
Ready for the hunt with HTK Safaris

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
