Rigby Big Game Lightweight 350 Rigby

You seem to be missing the points we are making. You are talking about nostalgia, others are talking about practicality. Looking at your pic you can see the bullet is seated very deep into the case. How would a Woodleigh Hydro or other Monometal solid go in your rifle. Probably would not get enough powder in to achieve the 2200fps. It would be the same for the 350Rigby, its muzzle velocity would be the same as the Whelen's with same projectile. Why drop 358 Norma performance down.
If you wildcatted the 350R and blew it's case out so it had very little tapper you, would I think, match the 358RUM (another wild cat) performance and you need a magnum length action for that.
@Rule 303 I can safely get 2,440 fps out of my Whelen with 310s and a healthy dose of 2209/H4350. The Rigby should be able to do 2,500 to 2,600fps easily.

@baxterb
That translates to $73,000+ Australian dollars so I don't think they will sell many here. Dang that's more than a new top of the line Tesla EV.
Bob
Rather than that Tesla, at least the new owner would have something useful and of appreciating value. :unsure: ;)

@Red Leg
Very true. Who needs an EV. Where could you charge it on a hunt in the Kalahari

And, unlike a Muskmobile, will be your faithful friend for decades, and then for your progeny (and theirs) for generations.

Research indicates that fine firearms are also less likely to spontaneously combust.

78 orders for a £38k rifle from just the shows IS incredible. Goes to show you how much we nostalgic -types really regard the Rigby brand. I wish my day job would understand stuff like this…
A fabulous looking rifle . Mark Newton and Jerome Lanoue came out to Brisbane last year . Had a small drinks party one Saturday night and sold 4 of them in sleepy old Brisbane ! Just some local boys no big shots . I ordered mine there and then . Love what Rigby are doing and such good guys to deal with . And on their other rifles I am a fanboy for their 450 magnum . Have the basic PH model - the best shooting out of the box rifle I have ever owned - unbelievably accurate and very pleasant to shoot .

I knew I would hear of this from you. I thought of not posting about the 375 and hiding my excitement and saying it was a 300H&H. I am not sure what a 375H&H has ever done to you to deserve the hate.

A highland stalker in 300 H&H.. that might would push me over the edge and have be become another rigby acolyte... (maybe something to mention to Marc the next time youre schmoozing... :) )...

375 would be the perfect pairing for your 243. You need a 416 Rigby to pair with the 275. :LOL::LOL::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Safe shooting

The versions being sold at last year's shows were 50K pounds as they were personalized and case colored and included the Turkish stock selection. So, they did real well.

The 400 gr Barnes TSX bullet in that image is seated so the cartridge overall length is 90mm or 5.55" Crimps right at the first band/canlure. According to my sources the factory spec OAL is slightly shorter than 5.55". Maybe I'm loading these bullets wrong but it groups satisfactorily.

Tom mentioned he got a few orders for them that night, 4 orders in one night in Australia for a 75k AUD rifle is pretty good going.

Looks to be seated rather deep and well into the powder space. All my monometals, regardless of calibre sit out a fair bit more than that and I use that powder space. All mine run at advertised velocity or more as the bullet is not taking up room and they all feed smoothly. Something short like that may well have a steeper angle and jam or be a PITA to feed. But each to their own.

I have posted video of it cycling. The PITA is posting the video. I'll try it again. That standard Mauser cycles smooth as glass. Barnes says their bullets are supposed to jump to the lands fifty thousandths

I do not doubt that that round cycles well in your rifle. In mine it most likely would not and all my rifles have Weatherby throats, that is long throats so to get that 50tho of the lands in my rifles it would need to be seated way further out. As I said, each to his/her own. In other words I am not knocking how you do things just that I do them differently and think my way works better, you think the same way about your method.

Never seen a Rigby, beautiful though in contemporary media, literature.
Marketing geniuses and Jerome is receptive if you ever need assistance.

Saw a gas-powered Ford, Tesla service vehicle up here this fall.

I doubt you are interested in any trades but I was getting ready to list a Sauer 404 3 barrel set in the 10-12 price range if your interested. It has the 404J, 30-06 and 6.5 Creedmoor barrel. Only the 30-06 had been shot and it has 7 rounds through it as I was working on breaking the barrel in. It also has both the synthetic thumbhole stock and somewhere between grade 3-5 non thumbhole stock
