Rigby Highland Stalker

Highland Stalker owners, are your trigger guards flat on the underside, our do they have some contour to them? I was looking at some pictures to get an idea of the barrel profile and I noticed that they are flat looking. Just wondering if thats the case or not.

I don’t own one. I have handled several. But at $11-$12k I think they are a good buy. Considering what that amount of cash buys in a double rifle.

I would take a look at the MNR website. They have a nice selection of high quality reasonably priced rifles properly vetted. And a great guy to deal with.

I have been eyeing that one as well. I was also looking at the Rigby DSB PH in 416 that went sale pending last week. One reason I’m holding back is I get out of the military at the end of the year and wanted to get something then to mark the occasion.

That's a good deal also. Includes 10 boxes if ammo!

So why are you holding back?

The military retirement gift to reward yourself. Love it! The morning of my retirement party in 2004, we were living in Bolivia and one of my great friends and shooting buddies showed up at my house early in the morning with salteñas and a bottle of Champagne. He said I have heard you talking about it for years, let's order your "I love me and deserve it" firearm. We put together a beautiful, custom, 1874 Shiloh Sharps. That was my retirement gift to me. Mama said I was still going through my "Old West Cowboy" phase at the time.

You want a Rigby? I suggest you call Marc Newton at Rigby and order you a special "I love me" retirement gift. You earned it and deserve it.

Safe shooting

Congrats on the pending retirement. Just be safe--when you get short is usually when the Shiite hits the fan! :)

@SFRanger7GP that is a nice retirement gift and some good advice. I saw Marc Newton and the crew at SCI last weekend, great booth.

Toying with the idea ordering one new was another factor that has me holding off. Getting one’s name in the Rigby ledgers would be special.

Hello. I see you hunted with Sampie recently. If you don't mind me asking, where did you hunt with him? Zim or SA? And was it with a bow? What did you hunt?

I am possibly going to book with him soon.
Currently doing a load development on a .404 Jeffrey... it's always surprising to load .423 caliber bullets into a .404 caliber rifle. But we love it when we get 400 Gr North Fork SS bullets to 2300 FPS, those should hammer down on buffalo. Next up are the Cutting Edge solids and then Raptors... load 200 rounds of ammo for the customer and on to the next gun!
To much to political shit, to little Africa :-)
Spending a few years hunting out west then back to Africa!
