RJ Renner “Old African” for sale

Why is this still available? This classic PG rifle would cover anything but DG in Africa and anything in America. Add a 375 or 416 and you're done.

Agreed!

Is the Renner pricing on top of a base gun, which the client provides? If so this is even a better deal. It's basically a free base gun.

Yes the pricing if you provide the base gun and then pay for the work; so yeah it's a great deal and surprised it's still here.

Your donor plus $3k for the basic conversion. There are upgrades ontop of the basic conversion.
I didn’t have this built
I bought this off GI so I’m not sure what is considered an upgrade and a basic conversion

Could I ask, what does he do with the front sling stud hole?
I tried to zoom on the one picture that kind of shows it but I’m unable to tell…wondering if the factory stock is trimmed back at the hole location and then the ebony tip added? That classic euro look achieved the stock is maybe 1” shorter vs the factory forend….

Or it’s just plugged (but I’m doubtful of that). I almost sent him a 375hh to have this exact thing done. Again, beautiful rifle!

It’s a barrel sling stud. You would attach the top end of a sling to it. It helps lower the muzzle while carrying. Helps reduce snagging on brush

Pretty sure you’ve got it right. I suspect that he cut the forend off at the old hole for
The stud and added the ebony from there. The dimensions look roughly correct for that.

The fore-ends are cut back so that the total length is [emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji640]]-[emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]]] inches. So, I think he does cut back past the original hole. His pricing is good and he does quality work. You can’t go wrong with a Renner build. If you are sending in a CZ[emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]][emoji6[emoji640][emoji637]][emoji[emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]][emoji640][emoji6[emoji640][emoji638]]] he charges a bit more because it’s a lot more wood to remove.

Also his turn around time is pretty fast. I think he completed my rifle in about 3 to 4 months.

It’s a great look! I have a .416 that has a particularly nice piece of wood from Winchester but it’s a super grade stock. I planned on cutting the barrel back to 21” and I planed on doing this exact thing. Adding 3/8” extra ebony and trimmed back I figured it would end up 3/4 to 1” shorter. I think it will look good with the barrel cut back. Thanks for the reply’s

If this was a left handed rifle I’d be all over this. Wow. Love it.

Well, I shot you a PM - might could trade

My first big game rifle was a push feed model seventy featherweight in seven mm Mauser. That rifle never let me down. My son has it now and loves it. Couple that fine rifle with Roger’s stellar work and you’ve got a winner!
My first "bigger game rifle" was a Win M70 XTR in 7mm Mag. I was 19 years of age and game from .30-30. Here I realized the more oooompf 7 Mag had. It was a pushfeed and it feeded well. I later joint the CF band.

The rifle here portraited is a beautiful rifle. Well executed craftmanship.

trperk1, I bought the Kimber Caprivi 375 back in an earlier post. You attached a target with an impressive three rounds touching 100 yards. I took the 2x10 VX5 off and put a VX6 HD Gen 2 1x6x24 Duplex Firedot on the rifle. It's definitely a shooter curious what loads you used for the group. Loving this rifle so fun to shoot. Africa 2026 Mozambique. Buff and PG. Any info appreciated.

Hello:
I’ll take the .375 Whitworth for $1,150 if the deal falls through.
Thanks .
