Agreed, I think some miscommunication has lead to some poor feelings, which is a shame. There are lot of great members on this website, and they have helped me out countless times. I would hate for anyone to miss out on that

The fact of the matter is that we've had a number of scammers on the classifieds here over the last couple of years and most were new members. It seems to be getting more frequent and several members have been burned. One guy OldnLazy just got removed from here a couple of days ago. The members here are just really apprehensive about a seller not having all their ducks in a row, so to speak when selling something, especially firearms where thousands of dollars are at stake. “We’ve been scammed before” is like saying “someone of a particular color did me wrong so I hate all people who look like that”….. no doubt apprehension is a real thing….. I bet several of the people who are reading this forum….. have made some kind of transaction with someone they didn’t previously know on the daily in your respective lives. I walk into a store everyday of my life and hand money to a stranger for goods and services….. so the “fuck off cause you’re a new member and we don’t do business with those” argument is absolute trash in my opinion. Every single person who reads this was a new member of AH at one time. So, either this is an elitist group where only people other people approve of are accepted. Or it’s a forum where people with various experiences are brought together over some sort of interest of hunting Africa and it doesn’t matter if you’ve been interested in hunting Africa for 20 years or 20 minutes. The excuses some of you make for the exclusion of others is fucking stupid. But like I’ve stated in many responses…… the overwhelming support for people behaving badly isn’t my thing. So, please enjoy riding the egos of the person with the most posts and reply’s in this group. Because the person with the most reply’s must know the most. Or maybe they just sit on their computer all day and don’t actually know anything………

Your pretty far off the mark with your elitist comments were actually a pretty open and understanding group if you’d of taken the time to get to know us. The collective of member on here spans an immeasurable gap from those who can spend thousands on custom fit bespoke pieces to those whom the closest they ever get to Africa is reading these posts yet the opinions of each party is valued. One common factor amongst the fine group of gentleman on this site is respect for our fellow contributors and a standard we all seam to hold ourselves too. We have no problem with differences of opinion but there’s no need to make it personal.
Your items although fine pieces are not irreplaceable where as to some of our brethren to save up say five thousand dollars of disposable income could of take a year or more. Admittedly to some of our community the same sum would be easily spent.
For someone who accuses us of painting with a wide brush your doing a fair bit of it your self. Perhaps both sides of this got of on the wrong foot. My suggestion would be to ask the moderator to close this thread down and perhaps start anew with an introduction. In which you mention you know several of members have done business with them in the past etc have a couple of them vouch for you as they’ve done in this thread.

70 post and we still don’t know prices! Maybe you didn’t notice my last post on page 4 but I asked for a PM with pricing for each rifle. If we strike a deal I’m willing to drive to Atlanta. I was scammed on this forum this year for $1600 so your damn right I’m apprehensive and will not mail funds to anyone that isn’t 100% legit!.

The hypocrisy and ignorance in this post is a shame. You clearly have no interest in mending fences as you have ignored multiple posts which extended the olive branch.

It would be nice to see a mod lock this thread or everyone unwatch and just move on, as I am doing. Good luck @John1989

You were given instructions on the rules of the forum, and you still didn't comply. But we are the bad guys for not trusting a new member? I was also one of the ones who got burned by a scammer who was here for a couple of years and had a bunch of post. So, no sir, it's not you, it's just the nature of the world we live in. We were apprehensive of your offers due to the red flags on your posts.

I'd suggest we start fresh and go on. Or, you could find another forum to join. The choice is yours.

p.s. BTW, there have been other new members in the same boat as you. Other forum members have vouched for them, and they were able to sell the items they had. They moved on without name calling or insults. Let's move on.

You are very correct with this post. There are members on here who are quick to post or PM some comments, and by that I mean I have received such comments, that I very seriously doubt they would be interested in discussing in person. People with money often have long forgotten what getting hit in the mouth feels like.
